Default TBSS stabilitrak and ABS problems

I have a 2006 TBSS. I am having problem with the stabilitrak and ABS. Stabilitrak used to come on every now and then just at take off. It would come on for approx 2 sec then cut off. I took the wheels sensors out today to check them and clean them off. I took the TBSS for a drive and now ever time i take off the stabilitrak comes on but stays on longer. Also when I am breaking right before i come to a complete stop the ABS kicks on. The previous owner replace the throttle petal assembly, key switch, and break switch. Is there any way to tell if a wheel speed sensor is working properly or not.

thanks for your help.

You need to find someone with a scanner that can read the ABS system. Then you can scan it for codes, which may give you some clues.

I do not have any mil lights on on the dash. Could I still have a ABS system code. Can hp tuners read abs codes?

Thanks

May also be a steering position sensor.

How would I check to see if the steering sensor was the problem?

When you scan it. It's part of the Stabilitrak system and is a very common part that needs replaced on GMT360's.

sure. I understand you should bet a code every time the ABS light comes on.

2008 Chevy Impala SS - Service Stabilitrak Light occasionally activates at start up with vehicle at rest. No codes set. Clear incident by restarting engine. No issues while vehicle is in motion. Any ideas?

I have the same problem on our 06 TBSS. I went for a drive the a tech2 and all the wheel speeds were correct I did some searching on the trailblazer forums and a lot of the time it was the steering angle position sensor. I will be replacing that come spring, or whenever it actually warms up and I will see if that fixes the problem. You can manually turn the stabilitrak off by holding in the button on the left side of the shift lever for like 5 seconds so you don't have to worry about the abs kicking on while you're driving.
