Like the title says, whenever I press the button the button doesn't light up like it's supposed to.

Does it actually defrost the window or is the only problem that the button is not lighting?

If the defroster isn't working, you probably just have a bad circuit breaker. (It's common for this particular one to burn out.)

Defroster not working at all.

How do I fix it? I remember someone posting the top fixes for the fourth gen f-bodies, but no actual procedure/pictures and guide.

It could be a number of things, but the easiest thing to check first (and the most common point of failure) is that circuit breaker.

I recall that there are two 30A breakers on the car. One is for the windows/defogger. Just switch the two and see what happens. If it works, you just need to get a new breaker.

If it doesn't work then, you'll need to do some electrical tracing and/or check out the relay/timer unit in the dash.

There a difference between a breaker and a fuse?

For the purposes of this experiment, no. Generally, breakers are slower acting, which may be the reason GM uses them in this application.

NAAA fuse is a one time one fault device, the breaker is designed to limit current flow in the circuit if it goes too high and reset to allow it to flow again. After doing this over and over the breaker starts to fail and needs to be replaced.

The fuse is slower acting but only acts one time then needs replacement.
