windows glass being scratched from inside the door?
i realy need some help on this.
when i put my window down once its in side the door the door panel pushes out like 1/2 inch and then goes back in when i put the window back up.
now on the glass, on the inside it looks like over time something on the inside of the door has rubed in to the glass.
i just got my windows tinted and the guy said that what ever rubed in the glass will do the same to the tint and rip it all up.
i was wondering if any one has info on how to fix this

well i found the problem.
i took both door panels off.
right on the top of the door there are 2 guides that rub against the window.
the other side had felt on the end of the guides.
i guess sence the drivers door window gets used more they wore out 1st.
went to the dealer and the guides w/ felt where like $14 (i needed 2 you all prob do to)
im going to pick the guides back up tomorrow and ill post the part number.
my car is a 98 with 85K on it this might need to be stickied, once all the newer cars get older there gonna have this problem to and it will save every one the trouble

The 98 TA I purchased March had that problem, and I took it apart to glue on some carpet and the mount had busted in two. So I bought a new one and installed it.
The problem is we don't know when they are about to go, so we could replace them before they destoyed our window tint.

They're called window stabilizers. You can get them cheaper on www.gmpartsdirect.com for 5.71 a piece. Part # 10257988. I'm waitng for mine to come in. I'll have to retint my window before installing them. It would be nice if I had a garage to tint the windows in. Anyway, the only advice I can give in order to expand the life on these things is to never shut your door using the window and make sure your wife/girfriend or booty call doesn't either.

Naw, just the door panel. Once the door panel is off, you'll see the source of your problem. Like I said it only takes but a minute to remove and install the new ones. If you have a local salvage yard with some f-bodies, you may be able to find some window stabilizers. I went to a local salvage yard here in houston and saw about 6 f-bodies that still had them on.

the door bulging when the window goes down and it going back in when the window is up is normal. That's just GM sticking to the same ol' style. As for the popping sound, that would be the window motor. Possibly a sign that it's gonna go ka-poot or it could be that it's loose. Of course, it would only be loose if it's been changed before since GM rivets the motor in place during assembly. Mine was making a popping sound for a day then 3 weeks later it stopped working. When I took the door panel off to install the new motor I noticed that all the screws holding the motor were loose and one had fallen off.
