Power window motor going out? Costly fix?
One of the LS1s I am considering has the power window motor going out. How much would than run me to fix and it is a common problem?

It is very common, if the window starts to slow down or stop as it reaches the top then it is most likely the motor. Go to autozone and for like 50 bucks you can get a replacement motor with a lifetime warranty.
It is a bit difficult to replace if you don't know what you're doing, it took me about 3 hrs the first time but it is not hard to too hard to do. If you do a search you should find a few walkthroughs on how to do it.
Good Luck!

It's not that hard. It took me 2 hours the first time. I could probably do it in a hour if I did it again. It was actually the passenger motor in my wife's '02 Camaro and it only had 7k on the clock at the time. Maybe that's a record for shortest life span on a stock window motor.

I got my motor for about 35.00 shipped on ebay motors. Been working fine since I replaced it. Just buy from a reputable seller if you go that way. And yah, it takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to do it. Just allow yourself enough time and don't rush it.

I agree. I'm dumb and I got it done. Do it yourself. There's tons of info on this. Many threads on ls1tech.com. The dealer doesn't know what the f*ck they are doing either and damaged my fiberglass where the window regulator mounted and caused me a boatload of trouble.
