I know it needs it because its a 97 saturn with 73k which burns about 1 quart every 3k. Should I just wait untill the next oil change and do all 3?
well, it will contaminate the oil in the sense that hydrocarbons and exhaust turns your oil black. since seafoam cleans out such intense amounts of hydrocarbons, yes, it will contaminate your oil, but not to the point where it needs to be changed. you should still be able to run a 3,000 mile cycle in my opinion. i wouldn't run it any longer than that, though.

it's not going to have the effect that pouring the seafoam INTO your oil will have. that will completely trash your oil and turn it into some disgusting looking concoction really quick.

Just to be sure. I find this a bit nerve racking myself.

Using the deep creep.
Disconnect my Air Lid, remove bellows, and prop TB blade open. Spray entire inside of TB and blade and spray directly into the intake manifold? That just gives me an very bad feeling ya know? I though it was a general rule that no liquid goes into the intake.

Appreciate the reassurance!

it is also a good idea to use an old toothbursh to scrub the throttle body. that what we do at the dealership. cleans out alot more carbon

yup. that's right. think about it, you're pouring the seafoam right into your injectors, so what's a little down the intake manifold? just use judgement.

WOW!
Just did the full treatment on my 98 Z28, and was a little hesitant at first, but after getting the reassurance from the board I did it. It is the best thing I have ever done for my baby(110,000 miles). Smoke poured out. It was night time when I "took it for a spirited drive" , and a car behind me actually pulled off the road.

I have one question though. I put about 60 miles on the bottem end with the sea foam in it, and was curious if It would be alright if I changed the oil at about 75-80 miles. I used some crappy cheap oil for the sea foam treatment, and bought some sythetic to plop in after the treatment. Just wanted to know your opinion on the mileage chaco, and thanks for the great write up!

Do yourself a favor and ditch the seafoam and get this stuff, I used seafoam 2 months ago and nothing but whitesmoke..so today I went to the local auto store and bought some lucas stuff was walking out and some dude driving a souped up duramax was like "you want something better than that?" I was like alrighhtt....what is it?

He game me for free AMSoil PowerFoam and AMSoil P.I.(Fuel system treatment)

He put the foam through my throttle body and the other half in my vacuum hose and literally grey/blacksmoke was POURING out, it got out what the seafoam didnt.

He told me to leave and go "get on it" and man... my speedo looked like my tach, lol.

AMSoil is a sponsor aswell for ls1tech and was VERY impressed with the Powerfoam and P.I.(performance improver)

Powerfoam: https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/apf.aspx

P.I: http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/api.aspx

also noticed the valvetrain sounded much more healthy and quiter.

The best stuff, its night and day diff compared to seafoam!

Sounds good, I have always liked amsoil. I will try that the next time I do a treatment, problably in 15-20k miles. Still curious about changing my oil at 75-80 miles with the seafoam in it. Just curious if that is too soon? Thanks

I just noticed my car starting to sound a little rough (not at smooth) since I put the seafoam in my crankcase. Its only been 100miles. I can't wait to change my oil tommorow and put some fresh synthetic in there. mmmmhmmm

What if you don't DD your car. Is it safe to let that seafoam sit in your oil for a couple weeks. It might take me that long to put 250 miles on.

well, it's not corrosive, so i'd so no. i'd run it for 100 miles, though. you wanna take a nice long trip if you can, even if it's just to kill time. reason being is you want the oil to warm up fully and flow all over. short trips won't clean as well as the engine doesn't heat up all the way.

I'm just worried about it knocking some sludge loose and it not being able to burn up all the way.

Has anyone ever dropped their Oil pan after one of these treatments to see if there's anything just sitting there?

If you only poured in half a can of seafoam then your fine. Just changed your oil before 250miles or so of driving.

If you don't want to change your oil then don't pour the seafoam in the crankcase. Just use it in the brakebooster line and the gas tank.

no sir, put the seafoam in your oil about 100 miles before you want to change it. there's no need to put new oil in, then add seafoam and change after 100 miles. i mean you COULD, but that's just wasting money Justin00SS is right. as long as you put half a can of seafoam in your oil, it won't hurt anything. afterall, we own LS1's so we've SURELY burnt a little bit of oil to make room for that seafoam
