why? it's pure petroleum. it's not going to hurt anything. you will be scared the first time. once you do it and see the results, you won't be scared anymore. it's good to do it every so often. it cleans the gunk out of your crankcase.

I do it before I change my oil.

I wouldn't leave it in there for more than about 20 miles though, thats plenty to clean up the crankcase.

it's really not. the idea is to let it mix and clean all the internals. it's barely even going to mix up through a lousy 20 miles.

Did mine today with 75000 miles on her. Not to bad at first, but once I got on it smoked alot. Of course as soon as I pull out onto the empty highway, someone pulls right behind me. Oh well. Car does take off a little better now. Time to go do it to my brothers mustang.

The mustang coughed up a lung. SES light has been on for a while. We changed plugs and light went off for a week. Came back on replaced wires and coil. One week later here it comes again. Everytime we had to reset computer.

Pour Sea Foam in, and before we get 1/3 of bottle in, it starts smoking like hell. Poured rest in and let sit for 20min. Start it up, and let's just say there will be no bugs around for a while. SES turned itself off and car runs 100% better.

Might have been a good idea to get it scanned, see why it was coming on to begin with.

Thanks for the thread..

Just did the deep creep (from pep boys) into the throttle body.

Took it for a drive... and I think it helped the car run smoother.

Thankls

I just Seafoamed my car and it was HORRIBLE! 1,000x worse than what I thought was going to happen! I used the regular Seafoam and the Deep Creep, I wonder if running the wet nitrous is why it smoked so bad...60k miles.

Im going to be seafoaming a 91 CRX w.175k miles i just bought this weekend. I let you know what happened. I going to pour a hole can in the gas tank, 1/2 can in the oil, and the other 1/2 in the brake booster. I will also be spraying the deep creed in the TB. I think it going to restore a lot of power in this car.

Nice write-up chaco... Just seafoamed my 99 firehawk 82,000 miles.. surprisingly easier than i imagined... although my car didnt kill when i threw the last gulp of seafoam in my brake booster hose.. after 30 mins i closed the cutout so that i wouldnt get any carbon buildup in the cab.. and smoked it up throughout the neighborhood.. pretty sure i pissed off the neighbors bc it looked like a frag had gone off... definitely drove a lot smoother and lights up harder in 2nd gear.. thanks again

Well me and a buddy of mine seafoamed our 91 CRX's today. We both think it made a difference. Both idle smoother. So far it hasnt fouled a plug, but it hasnt been in there long. I do think it cloged up a cat though.

Curious to see what kind of smoke you get out of a motor with that many miles.
