Def change the fuel filter. Its easy. I know on my eclipse skipping at High RPM's was a result of plugs and wires. I went through about 4 sets

A arc is when the plug wire is not making full contact with the plug. I twas happening with my A4 and I thought it was trans trouble skipping like it was.
