Default Faulty Fuel Gauge

Ok, so, my fuel guage is acting up. No matter how far I drive, it stays between 3/4 and full. Would disconnecting the battery fix this, or is there some part I need to replace?

Hate to say this but the same thing happened to two guys I know, in both cases it was the sending unit inside the tank. One car was a '98 and the other a '00. I hope I'm wrong...

Mine is doing the same thing. It seems that my gas tank is always full. Do I need to replace just the sending unit, or the fuel pump?

Mine does the same thing, except it reads empty 75% of the time, the rest of the time it reads something possibly correct. But most of the time it reads empty.... I hate that so much.

so we have a bunch of people with the same problem.. nice.. any solutions... I'm gonna be cutting an access hatch to my fuel pump sometime in my current project to see if its the sending unit or float is stuck or something.

You'd think with so many people having this problem someone would know the solution.

Resetting the PCM didn't work. Looks like it's going to the shop for a new fuel sensor.

Please let me know if something turns up, because I don't feel like spending $$$ on a fuel pump.

^^^Prolly won't need a pump, just a sensor of some sort.

i'm wondering the same thing because this just happened to me today. I'm going to buy a can of seafoam when I get off to pour in it to see if it just so happens to help...I've never had to change the fuel pump in my car, or in any other f-body, but i've heard you have to drop the axle in order to get to it...
