tuesday im going to remove my A/C. i have one question. is there any alternative to the evap/heater box? i want to remove all that to give more access to the #8 and what not. right now, i can only see cutting the lines and crimping them. if i **** with it im afriad im going to ruin my airflow across the heater core and my heater wont work right.

i just would unbolt it and leave the part with the two wholes sticking out . might want tto cover the wholes that way they dont rust up over time .
you will be surprised at how much easier it will be to work on that side of the engine bay .

ok, well i took everything off tonight except the evaporator box. i see it has to come out through the inside.....damn....anyways, there is a ton more room under the hood now and it looks so much better.

1 question, when i get the evaporator box and evaporator off, how much do you think i could sell the entire A/C system for. i mean everything from evaporator to condenser, to compressor to accumulator with all bolts, brackets and lines in between? i seen Harrison V5's going on ebay for around 200 bucks.....so idk.....is **** like this easy to sell? whats the deal?

Do ac's on ls1's need a new pully or bracket when you remove the system? Or are the ac's electric?

I just cut mine, from under the hood flush like the link you posted. After that just seal it up. I still have heat but if you remove the whole thing, you wont have heat though.

cut? i thought you just unbolted the evaporator box and pulled it out. i thought the blower motor and heater core was seperate from the evaporator housing.

Im no expert, but I took bolts out here and there and then said **** it, and cut and sealed it.

I think the whole thing is one pieace pretty much. The blower, doesnt it blow AC and Heat, just depends on your settings? Im not an expert, but if you get rid of that, you wont get anything. And, the ducting inside the car is the same for AC and heat.
