You should be using at least 5.5 quarts IMO

After hearing what some of you guy's said about "Pennzoil". I returned it, and went to Wal-Mart and got Castrol GTX Syntec 5W-30 5quart along with an extra quart. Think im gonna stick with that and the M1 Filter from now on, or maybe change to a K&N Filter.

The Walmart brand "Super Tech" is made by the same company that makes the Mobil 1 filter. The company's name is Champion Labs. I use the Super Tech filters on all of my cars and my bike, and I have no problems. Also, I use the Shell 5W-40 oil. No problems with that either.

Amsoil 5W-30 and Wix Filter. It offered a noise reduction from Royal Purple 5W-30 and a Fram filter.

I've used RP 5w30, RP 10w30, GC 0w30, and now Pennzoil Platnium 5w30.

All oils have been really similar as far as oil pressure goes, the only one I can notice a difference was with 5w30 being lower in extremely warm temps in bad traffic.

Penzoil Platnium is good enough for patman, it's cheap and readily available so I'd say it's good enough for me.

K&N filter can throw off an oil pressure guage. I use Mobil 1 but royal purple and German Castrol 0w30 have been the leading oils for ls1 engines. As far as I know Ams-oil has changed nothinng since first formulated. Synthetic oil has gone a long way since then.

Pennzoil Platinum is really not that bad i used it for along while. i did switch over to gc 0w30 because it gives me slightly higher oil pressure. but i did not havey any problems with the pennzoil.

I have used Royal Purple 5w30 with a K&N since I bought the car about a year and a half ago, and it gives me a little bit of engine noise. Thinking about switching over to a 10w40 since summer is coming and my engine is aging.
