Default For everyone that bitches about replacing spark plugs in an f-body

The ones in my wifes V6 Sonata are even worse than an F-body, you have to take the upper manifold off to replace the 3 rear plugs, major PITA just for plugs.

I would change the plugs in the trans am over the v6 sonata anyday.

after you do headers and take the egr/air off , f-bodys are easy to do plugs.

LOL, I just did plugs for the first time on my 2000 WS.6. The plugs weren't really that difficult to reach, I do have small hands, but the freaking spark plug boots are a PITA to get off the spark plugs. I spent almost 75% of the job struggeling to get them off the plugs, I would pull sooo hard and soooo long till FINALLY the boot would go "POP". I would be like, "UH, thank God!" Especially the back passenger one.

I agree with TheBlueKnight on the difficulty of removing the wires though...once I was able to yank them off the plugs, it was no time at all...wasn't hard to get to the wires, just hard for me to pull on them on the passenger side...my hands don't seem to work in that direction.

Whoever complains about doing plugs on an LS1, needs to just put down the wrenches and back away slowly

LT1's are by FAR humans worst creation EVER for changing spark plugs.

I haven't changed plugs on an LS1 yet, but I changed plugs on 2 LT1s with stock manifolds. Each time I had the job done in less than 1.5 hours. I didn't see what the big fuss was about.

Stock for stock is the LS1 considered to be that much easier than a LT1?

Aside from a 4 cyl engine, LS1's are probably the easiest engine to change plugs on.

I haven't done an LT1 plug swap in almost 10 yrs, and don't plan on doing it ever again

Agreed, also putting alitle dab of dielectric grease on the top of the plugs helps pull the wires off in the future.

I've done many LT1 plugs/wires and I've made a promise to my hands and arms I'm never gonna do it again.

The LS1 is much easier, but its no cakewalk either.

The Nissan VQ engine is the same thing. My neighbor asked my to do a tune up on his '01 Infiniti I35, and when I told him that I had to pull the intake manifold off and it was going to be a few hours to do the job, he decided to just let it go lol. Thats a **** poor design for sure.

OMG you're alive

I haven't seen you post in a long time.

BTW try changing my my plugs on my '95 Toyota Avalon... You *should* pull the intake off, but if don't mind sacraficing your hands/knuckle a bit you can get it done

+1,000,004,324 LS1 is a cake walk compared to an LT1. My LT1 was in a thirdgen and I couldn't even see all my header bolts, let alone touch them. I sold it before I had to replace them again.
