I seriously need it but would like to find a cheaper alternative than $50.

i think so... i have an extra band clamp laying around and i plan on using it to try making one of these, the only problem is that welding the actual brackets to the hanger is going to be hard because its so thin. anyone else want to chime in?

why bandaid the issue
that bracket increases stress on the header...put enough torque on it over enough time and you run the risk of breaking welds on the headers.
why not fix the problem at the source....engine flex....ie motor mounts.
still $50 but it will solve the issue the right way AND help transfer more power to the ground (granted you'll never notice..but still).

I went to autozone and bought some radiator hose. Cut it lenghtwise and wrapped it around the y pipe where it hits. I was able to get a couple layers on it and clamped it with big hose clamps I got from Home Depot. Worked fine for me, that was about a year ago.
