Kooks Headers vs American Racing Headers
I am going to be ordering 1 of these in a month or so. I have been reading about the ARH and really like what I hear. And I have seen ARH compared to QTP header threads but I have not seen ARH compared to kooks. If I missed it come someone give me a link?
There about the same price give or take about $100. Is there any big differences. Does one hang lower then the other. That is my main concern. I dont want to be scraping over anything. I know both have very good quality.
But ya are there any differences?

For headers themselves, I think the new Kooks are a better design with the extra bung for wideband tuning. ARH definitely has a better y-pipe, though. If we're talking headers alone, I'd probably go with Kooks out of the two.

Either way you cant go wrong. As choco said ARH has a superior y pipe, and i believe that you hafta use their headers with that y pipe. Not sure why he prefers the kooks headers though, maybe just because of the extra bung? Im going to be going with ARH headers and y pipe myself, im just trying to decide whether to go off road or get the catted y...

Ya I do plan on going ORY.
And sorry I did not mention it I am talkin the whole set up headers and Y pipe. I am keeping the stock catback. I have a cutout
A buddy of mine has the kooks headers and y pipe and they tuck up very nice do the ARHs tuck up to or do they hang lower?

I love my ARH's but both products are top notch and made and sold by top notch folks. You really cannot go wrong with either. Do it once, do it right - lose no sleep whichever way you go.

my ARH's have never scraped over bug speed bumps they tuck up very nice.
another thing if you are getting rid of egr and AIR get the race ones i wish i did, there cheaper and dont have things sticking up off the header

They'd be willing to do it I'm sure. For an added cost. They'll accommodate custom just as Kooks will accommodate custom, so since both companies are willing to go custom, it doesn't matter to me what they "can do." I'm speaking of the off-the-shelf system as-is.
