i vote 3.73's with the A4. you probably won't like how hard the engine will turn with 4.10's driving it every day

I'd say 3.73, regardless whether it's auto or manual. If it's a DD, 4.10 is just wasteful.

x1,000,000,000,000 for the 3.73s. I have them, they aren't bad for cruising speeds.

Since its a procharged car I would say 3.73's. If you were under 400hp then I would say 4.10s... but yours already feels like a rocket

I daily drove a big block 68 pontiac with 4.10s... would have been much better if I had an overdrive, but I didnt care because it was a ROCKET off the line. I could care less that it may have done 135mph at 6500 rpm. I never did it. If a stoplight race ever got to 80mph then I would have been commited to going to jail

I think you'd be more concerned with how much your car would spin of you had 4.10s

I'm not knocking 4.10s at all. It all depends on the tranny's gear ratio, too. With an MM6 6-speed, 4.10s wouldn't be all that bad. With an A4, IMO, it'd be annoying.

I started a thread a few days ago about a build that I would like to do if I had a stock A4 car. It basically involved a strano suspension/brake kit, a catback, a few minor bolt-ons, a tune, good wheels/tires... but the cornerstone was 4.10 gears.

If you don't DD it, then 4.10s would turn a mostly OEM car into a fast feeling car. But obviously, he's got a procharger and probably making 500rwhp. unless he's got like a 28" tall tire on 15's then I don't think 4.10s would be fun. Even a decent set of tires on the street would make you wish you had less power because it would be all rubber.

I agree. I don't think he's making 500rwhp, but as far as the fast-feeling car.. yes. That's what 4.10s do. They are GREAT for the track, and depending on your set-up, good for the road too!!
