Default Best Catback for WS.6

So what is it. I know we have good exhaust from factory but what is the best catback I want a diffrent sound. Im thinking about doing the o\r y-pipe, and cutout and leaving the stock cat-back on but when i close the cutout i want a better catback sound. so what will gimme the most poweR?

I have alos heard that off road y-pipes do nothing for power? this true? either way I would want one for sound level

thanks, Danny

Another vote for Magnaflow. I just installed the catback a couple weeks ago. I love everything about it...price, looks, sound, performance.

DO NOT get a hooker cat-back, sure the price is attractive, and you get a handful of ponies. but when your exhaust tips start rusting in 6-9 months you'll be kicking yourself in the a$$

sorry i don't have any suggestions, but please heed my warning!!!

If you want the most power a 30 dollar cutout is your cup of tea. Nothing will outflow an open pipe. Stock catback it will be quiet when closed up.

FRom what ive read the magnaflow catback flows 1 less HP than a cutout. Not to shabby for a catback WITH A MUFFLER!

My vote is Borla. You can find them used. The HP gains are about the same on most of them. The Borla looks and sounds awesome! And you can change the sound, no other system offers that. And it's stainless.

I don't think any of the aftermarket 3" systems are going offer anything worth noting over the stock WS6 system except the Loudmouth. The feasibility of this system depends on how strict the cops are in your area.

Here in N.Y. they are out like packs of wolves looking to generate revenue.....................

Get the Hooker Cat-back along with the rusty tips. I like they sound of my Exhaust. Loud when you want it to be an not so quiet either.

Standard answer:
All of the after market cat back systems will produce about the same HP. You can figure 12-14 HP with a cat back on a realatively stock car. The best system is the one that best suits your ear, wallet and eye.

You will see that most everyone likes what they have. I have owned a Borla and an SLP 2OTL. I liked them both. Get what you like and sounds good to you.

Default Magnaflow Install Complete

I just got back from the shop, had my SFC's put in (huge difference) and the Magnaflow cat-back. It looks like the guy that owned the car before did something with the exhaut because it wasn't stock. Anyway I'm quite happy with the MF, looks really good and sounds good. Idle is about the same, cruise is about the same but anytime your on it it sounds great, acclerating and decelerating. I'm happy with it and would buy it again. Not to sure if I gained much if any in HP but the car runs a lot better at lower RPMs.

Give the muffler a couple of weeks to break in, it will get somewhat louder. Im sure you picked up a few ponies, the magnaflow is one of the best flowing catbacks out there.

P.S. What kind of SFC's?

Default SFC's

I ended up going with the BMR tubular ones, I know I could have got "better" ones but I liked these and they should be fine for my style of driving. While the car was up on the lift I have decided to get the tunnel brace, LCA's and the Panhard bar, but that will come when I do the springs and shocks to set it the way it should have come from the factory.

OK if I understand this correctly, you're putting a cutout on there for when you want power and noise, but just want the stock catback to sound better when the cutout is closed. So . . . there is no reason to replace the entire catback, just repalce the stock muffler with one that sounds good. I like my Borla muffler, but you could put a Maganaflow or Sweet Thunder on there as well.
