I believe it has baffles that can be smoothed out inside of it. Im not for sure bc I have never seen a stock lid in person.

There is no real power difference nothing that you'll ever feel anyways and In my opinion the slp air lid looks the best stock is ugly

If you have absolutely no money I would dremel off the baffles but if you compare a stock lid to an aftermarket lid, the neck is a huge part of the upgrade. The stock one is oval and kind of bottle necks. The aftermarket ones are just a huge round circle all the way to the maf. I would just save up $100 and buy an aftermarket one.

I cut the baffles off my stock lid and then sanded it down then filled in the two wholes in the silencer wing. and cut the plastic under the filter that covers the gap to the radiator. works great.

the slp lid comes with the whole to reconnect it. otherwise they make little K&N filters to go into that hose.

"Required for the AIR breather tube which you will disconnect from your stock lid. After installed, it tucks away nicely behind your proportioning valve."

right from the link.

thats pretty much what it does when it's connected to the lid, suck in the filtered air from the lid to the Air system thats connected to your AIR pump underneath your headlight. Look for that other big black hose running over the drivers side wheel well, because thats going to the same place.

where i live i dont worry much about passing smog so maybe someone else could help you more.

are you throwing any codes?

That hose goes to your AIR pump. The pump I'm gussing is still there inside the driver side fender well. The should should connect to the right side of your lid. Is there no hole a little bit bigger than a quarter on the right side of your lid? If there isn't and your car is otherwise stock I would be willing to bet that's why you are failing emissions tests
