oh was just wondering almost done with my build, then to Mike Norris for full tune.

Going to turnkey and check for leaks, then immediately there to him to let it rip on dyno.. Will be running Joe Gibbs break in oil...

Becasue they do not know any better ... no need to drill a hole in the TB blade.....just get the car tuned properly...

Beacause in the early days du to lack of tuning software and availability, drilling TB was one way to give the cam more air at idle. That method has since vanished.

$400-900 for headers/y-pipe
$600-900 for a cam kit
$150 for oil pump
<$100 for timing chain
$250-800 for catback
$300 for ls6 intake if you don't already have one

.....and $300-500 for a proper tune (doesn't need to be on a dyno). I'm not understanding how if you had the money to get to the point of needing to drill a hold in your tb because of the mods, you can't afford a tune. If you didn't factor a tune into the cost of your mods.....that's your fault. If you're so tight on money that you can cam a car but can't pay the $400 for the tune to make in run right.....you shouldn't be modding that car.

If having a hole in the throttle body blade is such a hack move, why do so many OEMs do it, including GM?

Drilling is very dependent to receive a better signal to the induction set up! GM marked LS series cams with high LSA's for this!! That tuning hole represents variations required for final tuning. Adding bigger cams with different lifts, added duration timing, both lobe angles, degree cutting and actual timing will effect YOUR ability to tune at idle. Come on tuners! You know what Im talking about, I can hear you cursing right now!! Or, check with your local tuner, Ill bet he enlarged it slightly, especially if your running an auto! Doing this will relax all that overlap you have, AND you'll be able to find your tune quicker and better, especially the automatics, when you just throw it in Drive and it dies when its HOT!!

I have a SPOT on tune and still have to drill a hole in my TB. My MS4 just wasnt getting enough air to keep from going rich. After a .2" hole it idles smoothe and perfect with no surging
