Default Fast 90/90 Stock MAF question

I did some searching, but couldn't find any good answers. I have what's basically a max effort stock CI LS1 with TFS 215 CNC heads & high comp. The intake is a Fast 90 with a NW 90mm TB, but I'm still running a stock MAF. Would I pick up anything by going to an 85mm MAF, or an aftermarket 90mm TB. From my findings so far if it's already got a good tune with the 78mm MAF, it won't be hard to retune for a larger MAF, I'm just wondering if the 78mm TB & the 78mm lid is a restriction to the Fast 90/90 setup & if I will pick up anything with a larger MAF/Lid setup?

you'll pick up a few hp since more air can flow

you could also go speed density without the MAF. That might work better on a max effort set up.

the inside of the delphi 85mm maf is actually closer to 90mm, and Fast Toys makes a 98mm lid that the 85mm maf fits in perfect

I thought about that, but I've already had a friend who popped his motor when the weather changed due to a not so good SD tune. This was on a FI car with a built motor.

If you are going to retune for the larger maf why not tune for SD? Either way you will pick up some hp.

I'll check with my tuner RWTD to see what he says about SD vs bigger Maf, I've just been staying away from SD tunes due to the weather and DA variations where I live. As I said above my buddy popped his motor due to a SD tune & a severe weather change. The tuner will not be mentioned, but he's one of the more respected in the LSx community & my buddy still popped his motor.
