Drone???
Now when everyone says that my LM1's will be drone with LT's and Hi-Flow cats. Do they mean it will stay one tone throughout or are they saying that even at an idle or pedal to the floor it won't be any louder or softer?

Drone is annoying HW noise... When you're cruising at 65 or 70 and you just happen to be sitting in that one range when you hit the throttle the exhaust tone itself is almost amplified and resonated throughout the cab. Next time you're on the HW, hit the throttle and notice the tone change RIGHT when you do it, but imagine that noise being constant. The TONE stays the same, but it gets deeper and louder.. Kinda hard to explain.
Makes it hard to listen to the radio or stereo on the HW because you have to crank it up pretty loud just to hear it over the exhaust. Gears can change this though. Puts the car into a different RPM range on the HW and the drone shouldn't be as bad because the car will move easier and not hang in a certain RPM range till it starts to pick up more speed.

I have LTs hi flo cats and loudmouth... there is definetly drone (which sucks i had the same set up with my lt1 and it sounded amazing!) around 1900-2k rpms (80mph or so in 6th gear) with the windows up gets kind of annoying. With the windows down or even cracked its no problem at all
But ya around 2k rpms its like a constant annoyance in ur ears...lol like the guy above said kinda hard to explain

I love to hear my car. I don't think I will mind the "drone". I don't listen to the radio when I drive this car, I just listen to her purr. My car is not an everyday driver, so when I do drive her I just love to hear it!!!!

^ after a while on the HW it gets annoying. Mine isn't a DD either and I took a trip up near Boston In the spring for DynoDay and when I got back my ears were ringing and I couldn't hear ****. It was a couple hour drive back.

When i ran my Loudmouth and Longtubes with an off road y pipe, the drone was usually around or under 2k RPM. It is not really unbearable. I honestly loved the sound of that setup.

^ I "handled it" for three years and that was enough. I don't like having a pounding headache, blown speakers and ringing ears when I get to my destination. LT's, ORY, and borla w no plate... Had that one for a while. Now it's just LT's, ORY and TSP Rumbler CB with baffled tips and it isn't as bad anymore. Sometimes the tips alone (or lack of) will cause a BAD drone.
