I'm wondering if they would/should recall the old designs and correct this. Like I said earlier, every one of these exhausts I've seen has that crooked driver's side tip. I think I'll call Kooks directly when I'm ready to get this exhaust.

This is very concerning!

Monday my Kooks true dual exhaust will be arriving and if this is what I've got to look forward to...

Ugh

^ First things first, hold the pass side pipe level and see if the tip is crooked.

Will do

Hope to hell I'll be lucky and won't have the same problems.

It's the drivers side you have to worry about.

I do have suggestions for this kit. Make the over axle pipe shorter and the after X section longer. This would make it a breeze to install over the axle. Send instructions and include things like "remove and discard upper tank/body heat shield. Show which way the hangers should be offset to. Yes I figured it out. But after I wasted lots of time second guessing myself flipping them around. Hell, even Kook jr told me to reverse'em later saying "sorry you had it right"
(you have 2 hangers per side. Install the bumper mount hanger on the inside and the frame mount hanger offset to the outside. They should fit at opposing 45 degree angles. / and \ ). Make this with 10" mufflers so you have the clearance for clamp on tips. Ditch the freakish huge quad tips. Either make'em each 1/2" smaller diameter or one 4" single tip. This will fit better in a TA valance without the risk of rubbing paint. Infact, offer it without tips for those that like a different style. Thus reducing the price.

I paid roughly $1750 including the trackbar relocation kit. Already had headers. Double check all connections on the floor before the install. My drivers rear has a fubar slip fit and I've got to take it to a shop to get re-expanded.........

Kooks chimed in earlier...they know this thread is alive....

Back up your product kooks...

I wouldn't get this simply because of that drivers side tip...looks like a Billy Bob weld job.
Nothing is worse then a crooked tip..looks like ****...anyone who sees that will let you know..and it would drive me fking crazy for 1500$ I could get a crooked tip weld job for $25

wow... $1500-$1700 for an overpriced system that is apparently not designed 100% correctly and they expect you to pay up front for return shipping? Unacceptable!

That's such a slap in the face. I'd be pissed off too! I mean that's ballsy for them to even ask you of that.

Sorry but I'll stick with my budget exhaust BBK ORY/LT's and Custom Magnaflow any day over dealing with this crap and paying a premium for it! Sounds like a company looking to take advantage of people's hard earned money if you ask me...

That really does suck. I think the issue from looking at the pictures is the system really doesn't have much adjustability in it. No two cars will be alike, and for the price ... a little more R&D should have went into it. Having the tips welded on is nice, but why not make them so they can slip on? If the client wants to weld them on, they can get them welded. That alone would allow for enough adjustment to solve some of the issues.

The other thing I see that would help is splitting that drivers side rear exhaust pipe in half. That would allow for left/right adjustment.

For the price I am glad I went a different direction.

Kook jr told me they did design the drivers side with a split in the middle after I bought mine. Right before I was transferred to someone that tried to give it to me dry. But that still doesn't give you any adjustment of clocking the tip.

Hmmmm, maybe mr Kook was too embarrassed with the price he was going to give me. Funny how I was asked for my credit card info before given a price. It took me asking for it $$ twice and a ruturn phone call almost an hour later.

ps: picking up my welding gas tomorrow

should be done this weekend. I'll be sacrificing some parts of what's left from my Corsa kit to fix this. Just hoping the Corsa tips fit up well in place of the Kooks without too much work.

You all should be so lucky that KOOKS made the effort to produce this kit for all of us. It is still a new kit, let them work out the bugs as I am sure they will do. Tweaking should be expected no matter if it takes you 12 hours (it was your fault you didn't check condition of parts so subtract 6 hours) and I myself wouldn't expect it to be a bolt on kit. Come on now guys, you have to have been in this hobby long enough to know that nothing ever always goes smoothly.
