Talk to Virginia Speed. Or Maryland Speed. PonyEater got his entire setup for $1800 or $1900. Gotta shop around.

i got mine for 2315 and i got the headers 1 7/8 the duals catted, o2 extentions, driveshaft loop and upper panhard rod relocation from maryland speed. i think its a good deal, its about what you would pay for a set of headers and taking it somewhere and having it done OVER the axel

That’s fine that this thread made an impact on your decision. That’s what these threads are intended to do. Provide you with other people’s experience. But you are making a decision based off of one person’s experience. We have now sold 37 sets of the true dual exhaust this was one person’s experience not everyone experience. What you are not seeing is we gave the client options to get this rectified but since they were not to his liking he denied them. How is that our fault? We have a company protocol in place for cases just like this. Say if you buy a TV off line and it does not work do you think the company is going to just send you out another one and wait until you send the original back no. They will charge you for the new one and then credit you back upon reseat of the defective one.If anyone has questions about this system please give me a call and I will address your concerns the best we can. Thanks

So then what is the issue with the tailpipe being crooked on all the installed units? This guy claims even the original car the system was built for has a crooked tailpipe, is that true? Is the answer, after the complete install, the tailpipe has to be cutoff and re-welded; if so, that's BS for a $1800.00 exhaust.

I do not understand why you are saying on all installed units everyone we have done after being adjusted fit the way they were designed. As for the claim that the original car tips were crooked is not true at all. I can post pictures of the R&D if you would like. No and the answer is not to cut the tip the answer is to have it properly adjusted before you tighten the whole system down.

I love this type of thread...SOOOOO much fail here.

While the "traditional" catback system goes on without too much effort, mainly because its a mindless function of plug and play with MUCH more allowable variation from car to car, this system requires a little finess.

Anyone of us that has crawled underneath one of these cars can/should quickly realize its a little tight in areas where Kooks found opportunities in packing 10lbs of **** in a 5lb bag! Add to the fact Kooks has to build to a nominal installed position and not consider every single variation in what some of us have done to our cars. If they did, could you imagin what that would cost?

But because "some of us" (OP) choose to save a couple hundred bux after spending $1800(ish?) and install it themselves only to find it REQUIRES some adjustment and wants to hold Kooks accountable is numbing. I'd be curious to know how many complaints Kooks have had when the proper tools and facilities were available. Probably not many. Typical demand of instant gratification and entitlement because I spent "X". Why?

In my opinion to those who feel that way should either stick with your Magnaflo's or better yet one of those sweet *** aluminized duals under the axle

Then look at the video you guys have showing off the new setup. Watch it closely from behind. It's crooked too, and please someone post up showing an installed system with the tips leveled. I've yet to see it. Not saying it isn't the case......but.
As for my options......It was either me send it back first and hope like hell i get a replacement within a month or two, or leave it for will call on the front porch.
So what happens if I leave it sit there all day waiting for UPS to pick it up and something happens to it. That's a ($550) part now gone with no proof of shipment plus the ($550) charged to my card. OH, and I still need a replacement piece. There's another ($550). Why didn't I ship it to ya directly? Because YOU yourself told me you had sent out one already. You lied to me George for the last time. How many times did you say "I'll get these pics to tech"......and then nothing. How many times did you say "I'll call you back right away"....... and days roll by.
Too little too late. I fixed it myself and to be honest I like it better now. Oh, and you can keep your damn heat shield along with everything else you said that needed to happen but never did!

uh...... on your own website the video of the Trans Am with the system installed, the driver side exhaust tip is crooked. At 3:00 into the video you can see its crooked and not level with the passenger side tip. I'm assuming you guys installed it, so you installed your own design and couldn't get the tips strait yourself?

I think it's the price everyone seems to bitch about more than install....every bash comment has "for that price" then the insult....maybe it's more of a price issue, then it is fitment...For all the hassle I'd think 1100 shipped is asking enough....considering you still need the $$$$ headers..or a nice package deals like tsp offers..whatever though...I don't make the prices, but DAMM thats alot of $$$ just for the system..

I expect the need for adjustment. Really! But mine had a crooked tip that "could not" be adjusted straight. Look at the enclosed picture. Imagine now that it's underneath the car bolted up and sitting on the hangers at the muffler. the tip was counter clockwise or " 11 and 5" with its position. Now the only way to turn it clockwise is by lowering it's connection at the over axle pipe because that's where the axis is. You can't raise the muffler, it's already sitting on the hangers with the tip just under the valance.

HAHA, thanks ponyeater, you just made my afternoon

I can't figure out why people are bitching about the price. For a catted y-pipe and say a corsa catback, it will come out being the same price. So Kooks

I've been saying that since I heard an accurate original price back when Ponyeater first bought his. It IS a normally priced exhaust.

There is a reason eBay companies are making so much money. -For people who won't pony up the cash for a DAMN good exhaust that performs and lasts. Anyone can weld some tubes together and call it a header(s). R&D makes power.
