i dont have a problem with cost at all.

however, does KOOKS supply all parts needed for a perfect fit? adjustments are understandable.

does KOOKS say some fabricating is needed? if so, why?

Here's the final install. I ended up adding 3" material to the left over axle pipe. This brought the tip and hanger into proper alignment. Cut and rewelded the tips into single 4". It's done, tight and looks damn good.
I never once bitched about the price. Go price you a Corsa these days. They're $1000 no problem. Regardless of who claims this or says what, I did see issues with mine. That's why adding length to the over axle pipe pushed the drivers side out allowing the tips to stick out egual to one another. It's merely the process of communicating with Kooks that made everything so difficult for me.
I saw this from the very beginning. After all, I'm just some dummy on the phone that can't gap a spark plug........right?

I'll work on that this week. This kit sounds very good. Compared to my longtubed corsa setup this has a deeper tone with only a slight drone down low. Not nearly as "snappy" in the sound. A bit more quiet until the pedal gets hit. And the best part......no rasp!!!!!! At least I couldn't hear any from inside.

I would like to have a set of those tips on my truck. Can they be purchased separately?

Anybody having any more fitment issues with this system? I'm considering buying it with the single tips. I was quoted $1700 for a custom stainless 3" all the way back from a local shop. I've seen the exhaust w/o headers for $1500 w/cats so I'll save a couple hundred for my effort.

Yeah I am wondering the same thing. Best price I have seen in $1400 w/o cats.

I'm gonna bump this as I was looking at picking one up this spring. Have they fixed the drivers side tip being angled? Are the tips slip-on now or still welded?

Tips are still welded, but I preferred the single tips so getting them level won't be an issue. I've seen several pics of the quad tips and they have all been straight.

I ordered from Maryland speed for cheaper than I have seen anywhere when I called them. I got in before Kooks raised their prices. The quote I got from the custom installer didn't include cats, so I'm saving a good chunk of change going with the Kooks setup.

Just because something is pricey doesn't mean it's going to fall right in. As far as I'm concerned when buying a complete system this big you should expect to run into some issues. Even 6000 dollar superchargers do not just install themselves and a little tweaking changing and fabbing is going to be needed. If you're experience is the former, consider yourself lucky.

Trust me I know. i had the same issue with a sticky TB on my Magnacharger, Ed and myself did not agree on what I got for my setup and they had the same protocol.

I don't think Kooks or their products suck (I have kook's headers, top notch ****!), but their "protocol" does. Ok, well their y-pipes leave something to be desired in the merge, but someone who just spent the scratch on something like that may not have over 500 bucks left to re purchase something and sit by waiting for a refund. Naturally he's going to be upset and others would agree.

Sadly, many performance shops have the same protocol, and it's because people just generally cannot be trusted.

It is very rare you find a company to stick it's neck out there for a customer issue. Offering advice and tech support is one thing but sending out 500 dollar parts at a possible loss is another. Customers AND businesses really want alot for their dollar these days.

Buyer beware.

Someone needs to make an under the axle bolt on kit!

It's been fixed, they added another "joint" on the passenger side pipe after the axle. So instead of one point of adjustment, you now have two points of adjustment. I think I received one of the first sets with the two joints, it's pretty easy to align the tips.
The first design: Only one point of adjustment.

The new design: Two points of adjustment (I know it's the same pic, but I couldn't find a picture of the new design)

If I was still running a stick axle, this is the setup I'd run. It's a great looking exhaust system. For all the complaints about price and fitment, show me another custom stainless steel over the axle exhaust system that is of the same quality, but cheap and not a pig to fit.

Good to know that they have addressed this issue with the tips. When I get mine installed I'll post a sound clip. I've searched and can't find a clip with this exhaust, cats and and a cam. I'll have my GMMG (w/oval tips) for sale and Kooks y-pipe in a few weeks if anyone wants dibs.

stick axle? do you mean stock? I'm running a MWC fab 9", and another member on here is running dana 60, and we have the kooks true duals... not sure where your getting at.

Why did you get cats? Mine fits great and they sent me an extra pipe lol its the one after the axle on the drivers side. The tips line up great. Mine bangs but i have not installed the one exhaust hanger by the tranny. Here is a single tip pic. http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/...1325901374.jpg

They are very close to the same i had to let them settle then i am going to adjust them alittle bit.

No, I mean stick as in solid axle. The solid axle is long gone.

I just ordered the system with cats. Not sure what Kooks uses, or if it's their own design.
