FTP 98mm lid and SS Hood clearance?
I was having clearance issues with my SLP lid and my fiberglass SS hood, but with the FAST 102 swap and a 98mm lid needed with my 85mm MAF I'm wondering if my clearance issues will be worse. Not even going to think about a 104mm lid. I didn't do a 100mm MAF because it would have been a bit big.
Ideas? i could try and file more off of my hood, but I'm wondering what people have had as far as clearance with a 98mm lid or else comparisons between the SLP lid and the 98. pics would help.

It will rub.. most likely worse.. I was going to modify the underside of the air lid support base or radiator shroud whatever you call it. Basically I was going to trim some off the bottom of it so it sits lower which would bring the air lid down with it as well. I haven't gotten to it yet due to lazyness and not caring really.

Interesting.......I have a 102 setup sitting in my garage that i need to wait to put on until i get back to the USA so i can get a decent tune. I have a VFN WS9 hood and my FTP 98mm hood rubbed bad on it, so bad that not only does it leave marks on the hood/, but it actually made my front left corner of my hood by the healight stick up about 1/4-1/2 inch more, while the other side sat flush. I put my K&N FIPK back on and what do you know, now my hood sits flush all the way around and no misalignment. So this i would be intersted to know also if there would be any problems when i install my 102/102 combo...

i have a FAST 92/92 setup with an FTP 98mm lid with a stock WS6 hood, i have no rubbing what so ever, but my buddy has the same car same year and to make his fit he had to switch to the non ram air lower radiator support. the ram air version has a 2 1/2" opening and the non ram air has a 1 1/4" opening for the air to come in under the lid. so i would suggest that if you have the ram, air version.

I'd love a nice cowl hood. Just on a tight budget right now. I can file some off of the hood and see what I can do when the lid comes in. I'll take the fans off or something so I can stick my head under there.. Or do the ole' clay trick.
