Default My Ebay header install...

Well i just got my ebay headers on my car today. Drivers side slid right in, i had to remove my oil filter, a heat shield and did a little banging on the car but the driver side slid in as well. Somehow, when i was trying to remove my steering linkage, i broke the little tube that comes out the bottom of my Power steering reservoir. Fluid everywhere. I assume i have to buy a new reservoir now? Does anyone know of a place that sells just the reservoir?

Another issue i have is the AIR pipe things on the headers. The bolt holes are alot bigger than stock ones, the EGR one is the right size though. Anyone ran into this before? I wish i knew what size it was. I'll add pictures to this thread shortly.

Those look really nice, man.

As for the A.I.R. Fittings on the headers, you'll need to get a set of 4 bolts and nuts (I used lock washers as well) that fit the holes.

Good luck with the rest of the install.

Yeah that sounds like a plan, do you remember what size you used?

I just got my Y pipe on and all the clamps tight, everything seems to fit perfectly.

My only problem now is i now broke my power steering pulley trying to get that damn thing off (don't ask how) I don't understand the pulley puller tool at all. I can't get the pulley off to save my life.

You need a P/S pulley removal tool like this to get the pulley off. You won't get it off without it. This one works best. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...RASTHWQWH2KPDD

I have a pulley tool just like that.. that i rented at O reilly's. I just can't get the thing off to save my life. I put the little clam shells around the edge of the pulley, put the o ring on it. Put the bolt that screws into the pulley and tightened. The pulley just spins and nothing happens.

I don't recall the Thread Pitch on the Bolts, but I do know the head and the nut are a 12mm. I just had my drivers side apart when my brother and I installed the TICK Master Cylinder in my car a week or so ago.

I "borrowed" the nuts, bolts, & washers that I used from the Shop at work. I'll check the pitch tomorrow and get back with you.

I have those exact same headers I wish i wouldve wrapped mine cuz they heat up like crazy! uh for the reservoir you can get that off GMpartsdirect.com pt#26068934. its about 60 dollars and for the egr, just delete the system, you need the block off plates. you can get them off ebay for like 5 dollars. egr is only for smog anyway.

So if the pacesetter Y fits, I bet the new TSP fits with the better merge....Hmmmm. Maybe that is the way to go.

I have a block off plate for the EGR in the mail, and that reservoir is only 45$ right now.....i really don't want to wait for that to ship so im gonna try local a little more. I can't believe how much a damn piece of plastic costs.

Ok so i just started the car up for the first time. Everything started fine(i still have no power steering fluid, broken reservoir) except there is alot of smoke coming from both of the headers. Is this normal on the first startup? I re-used my stock gaskets as they looked fine...and everything is lined up right.

Never reuse gaskets like that.

I re-used my stock exhaust manifold gaskets 2 years ago and all is great still. I have read many times on here about people reusing them.

Normal! You have grease, oil, hand prints all over those things...it is burning off. The smoke should clear in about 3-10 minutes OR operating temp.

If the car is smoking longer than that...then you may be in trouble, like a valve cover gasket, but you should be fine.
