Default Adding a pair of FM10 or 40 race mufflers in the Y-pipes = quieter exhaust?

Since I'm currently have no luck finding a shop that will weld in a couple of high flow cats, will installing a FM DF10 or 40 DF race muffler in each pipe right after the headers quiet the exhaust down or make it louder, and how about drone?
This would be in addition to the Borla XR1 3.5" in/out muffler I currently have in the I-pipe.

BTW, I'm sticking with a dumped exhaust setup, so going with a full cat-back exhaust isn't a option.

I look forward to your constructive input, thanks!

Update: Kooks Race Series Muffler #R250-14 is also a possible option.

Not a option I want/plan to go with, and I really don't see two of the 5" diameter XR1's fitting back-to-back,without having clearance issues with the drive shaft.

No, except for some drone in the 1000-1500rpm range I'd really like to tone down a bit.
Yeah, I already know the factory location would work, but like I said that's not the route I want to take;okay?

Will the DF 40 series even fit under the car after the headers?

It should, it's 8.75" L. x 8" W. x 3" D. pt#325408, but I'll have to takes some measurements to be sure.

The Kooks Race Series Muffler sound like a unique idea, Post a video if you get it done like that, sounds interesting.

The FM DF 40s clearly won't fit tucked up close to the body, and 10s might fit, but it looks to close for me to want to even try it. It to bad there's not the same clearance on the driverside as the passengerside otherwise they both would easily fit.

I think I'll try out some drilled/bored out, Car Chemistry two disc inserts I picked up cheap the other day.

Update

Well I went ahead and ordered a Mufflex 3.5" cat-back (w/magnaflow an hide-away tip) today!
This combined with the borla xr1 in the I-pipe will hopefully quiet it down a good amount!
