Default What tb and intake manifold after cam/heads?

I'm going to install a Speed Inc S15 cam, and 243 heads this winter. I just sold my ls6 intake and ported tb. What tb and intake would go best with my mods plus heads/cam?

First off forget about the stock 243's, you need to get a good set of aftermarket aluminum heads THEN get a fast 102 and a ls2 dbw plus an 85maf. Don't forget that all the formentioned parts are useless without a good tuner.. Did I mention it would also be wise to replace the rear for a Wavetec 35 spline Moser or fabbed 9 reared and a built tranny... Once you bump up 100hp or so these items melt.. (my wallet still feels the pain)

OP you can absolutely use stock 243s, some of us dont have an extra 1500 to drop on ported heads. As far as intake a FAST 102 with a 92mm Nick Williams TB would be your best bet, unless you find a FAST 90 or 92 for cheap, but lately they have been selling for what a complete 102 with TB would run

The fast 102 plus the 92mm Nick Williams will work great, as Blk98vert said.
And your 10 bolt should be just fine behind your auto, so don't stress over that.

A 92mm nick williams will not fit a fast 102 and seal... The orange gasket can be seen at the bottom with the nick installed.... Get the fast 102 intake, fast 92mm throttlebody (only one that seals thats cable driven) and the vmax velocity ring. What injectors you looking at getting? Ls2 injectors are a direct bolt in on a 102, ls3 injectors will work with an injector spacer and ls1 injectors will work with a fuel rail spacer. Also plan on getting a ls2/ls3 fuel rail, bought my rail and ls3 injectors for 140 shipped so its not that bad.

You can home port the 243's. There are plenty of threads in here to explain how. If worried about it, then just polish the bowls up & port match the intake runners. 243's are good heads.

Am not sure why you sold the LS6 intake. It is an excellent intake for stock cubes, as measured study has shown. Regardless, either another LS6 intake or a FAST (if you want to spend the $) can be used. Use an 85mm TB or larger, depending on intake choice. Good-luck.

Stock LS6 with a good ported TB.

The internet will have you believe you need a FAST 102 to go fast. That couldn't be further from the truth.

Shoulda never sold the ls6, could have used the $ you saved not buying the FAST and fuel rails and tb and everything else you dont really need yet to get ported/better heads

Would a fast 92 tb and a fast 102 intake work well for my car plus heads/cam?

Like everyone else has said... ThE fast 102 will have little or no improvement on a stock or even ported stock heads.. Listen to the advice and buy a used ls6 intake and tb... Then use the saved $$ money to buy a small nitrous plate setup.. Just more bang for your buck... If your money is tight and you stay with the stock heads then at least you won't have to worry about replacing the rear end or tranny like I mentioned earlier.. Just not enough power gains to damage other stock components...

Look around for a used FAST 90/90 or 92. If AI is gonna port your heads later it will be worth it. Also you can run your fuel rails and injectors with the older FAST stuff.....

Well, I was gonna say stick with the LS6 until you get sick of it, or find the funds for a FAST......

But I'd have to answer FAST. You may need a 255 pump and 42# injectors eventually. Once you crack around 430rwhp, you're gonna be pushing the limits of the stock injectors and fuel pump. The 102 is pricey, but it's once of the best supporting mods. Just need the right rails, FAST BM 102 TB and an LS2 waterpump to gain clearance. (Not to mention the LS6 valley cover) but hey, it'd be a winter project. I did mine last winter and took my time on it. Wasn't in a rush to finish it since it was snowing like mad anyway and couldn't take the car out.. why not tear it apart.

And welcome to the dark side... After Intake, Fuel stuff, Heads, Cam, full suspension, built trans + clutch, **** starts getting expensive pretty quick.. If you're tight on funds and/or don't plan on sinking more than $10k into the car, just do the h/c, LS6 intake get a GOOD tune and enjoy it for a while. Maybe work on the suspension.

Thanks for all the tips! Speed Inc will be doing the tune. I'm getting fast 36 lb injectors. After heads and cam, I plan on getting a built rear end. Then boost. Then trans, then...................... lol

Just don't be like me, and build an LS1, sell it, buy another, build it..sell it... I've bought the same damn parts too many times. My suggestion is to be realistic with your wallet and keep some cash in your wallet. I spent the good portion of my 20's broke but damn if I didn't have a FAST intake and the best heads of the time....
