Default Stock dual/dual CME - cone/ring of silence?

I recently purchased a bone stock, 108k mile 2001 SS with the dual/dual muffler and CME from factory. How can I tell, without hacking up my catback if my car recieved the cone/ring of silence? It is gonna be seriously difficult to put anything up the tailpipe with all the bends to feel for it, and both tailpipes have sooting...since they are right beside each other. The car does sound a little deeper and louder than other stock cars, but that could just be the better muffler, even if it is blocked off. What do you guys think? Also, my SLP sticker on the door is very faded. Its basicly stark white now with hardly nothing on it, and you can barely make out that it says SLP on it. So if it was possibly on the RPO codes, I wouldnt know anyway.

A plumbing snake would work. Feel the exhaust coming out of the tips. The drivers side should be weaker if you have it

Well, I have also read conflicting stories about its location now...Some people are saying its in the driver side tailpipe. Others have said its on the passenger side about an inch before the muffler inlet...

I would really like to get that crap out if I have it.

Only reason I would like one is because I would like to know what all options my car came with. The original owner was an old man who had the car till about 60,000 miles. Then a friend of mine bought it, I was with him when he looked at it, had the car for 5 years or so and only put like 20-25k miles on it. Then another friend of mine bought it for $9k a year and a half ago, and I jsut bought it off him for $6200. He put like 21k miles on it in a year and a half, but none of them have driven the car very hard. It runs good, just needs a little general maintenance (clutch is stock with 108k miles and startging to have issues, cats are clogging up and throwing codes on both sides).

SLP can NOT get you new stickers. I've begged them more than I care to admit.

I am gonna call SLP tomorrow and ask if they have any record of what cars had the baffle installed and where they put them if they were.

"Cone of silence" was on the inlet of the SLP 2OTL system (looks like the top of a slurpee lid/cup, "Ring of silence" was on some Y2K factory installed SLP dual dual systems in the drivers side tailpipe. My SLP dual/dual 99 SS didn't have it, but another DD one I bought off a 2000 did. Any muffler shop can remove it in about 10mins.

Yeah, my car is a 2001 with 108,000 miles...so looking at the exhaust residue on the tips doesnt help at all. I did however put my hand down and feel the exhaust coming out of each side...the driver side actually felt stronger than the passenger side. I am gonna have it checked anyway though.

So glad I found this thread. I had no idea about the "Cone of Silence" but my 2000 SS with the SLP dual/dual definitely has it. There is literally nothing coming out of the driver side of my dual/dual... It's always cold, and in the morning when I can see steam or smoke or whatever coming from the passenger but absolutely nothing from the driver side. Am I losing power with this at all? And I can't take it out myself somehow?

I would think any restriction in the exhaust robs some power. Yeah, just cut the tailpipe off and knock it out I guess. Or have an exhaust shop cut out the section its in and replace it...
