Build me an Exhaust System $$$
After ordering Zr1s and tires, I have about 1500 left to play with, but when I get the wheels and tires on I'll most likely want to lower it (1.25-1.5). So what exhaust setup should I do with 1k being the maximum I'd spend?
Current setup is Stock with a cutout open.

Plus it's better to have a cutout/muffler setup to control the noise...
I say any 1 3/4 ( 1 7/8 if you don't mind the harder spark plug change lol ) and a custom ory and a cutout into a magnaflow/hooker/borla
When I fix my exhaust I plan on doing my exhaust like this:

Borlamouth with long tubes / ory is going to be really loud. The cut out probably wouldnt be needed there since the xr1 is a bullet muffler. Plus you would have to move the cut out back towards the rear end since the muffler would be in the way.

TSP Rumbler true duals (currently out of stock on TSP :/) and their 1 3/4 longtubes... No rasp from the Y pipe, much better sounding tone over a Y pipe IMO and many others, better power gains over a Y pipe (especially the POS stock one). Just my .02. Hopefully someone with TD's will come in an give me some support, and hopefully those guys suggesting a Y pipe setup will someday hear true duals or see the dyno sheet that proves duals don't just sound better.
Hopefully lowering your car will still provide enough room for the TSP TD's... if not, you are really missin out man!

Build your own 3'' over axel true duals. If you have access to a wire welder, a floor jack and 4 jack stands. You just need the pipe....as far as headers go, there are some very good headers for a very, very, very good price on the interweb...You need 10' of 3'' pipe and the bends. I would only use mandrel bends. If nothing else it will get you away from that rasp, oh and it should flow.

I have heard nothing but good things about their 1 3/4 headers, I don't have a pair myself.... Yet, but when the funds are their I'm gonna pick them up. An x pipe with dumps will sound very nice. If smog isn't a problem, go for their headers and an x pipe with dumps!
