Default at what point do u need better injectors?

hey guys so quick question, im planning on doing a cam swap this winter and my parts list is growing, as of right now i am deciding between the tsp 228r and the tsp v3. i plan on upgrading EVERYTHING possible to bring out the most in the cam but im curious between those two cams would i need to upgrade the fuel injectors?? i mean at what point should you consider upgrading them?

Cam only you may be able to get away with stock injectors. Add some good flowing heads and chances are you'll need some bigger ones.

Whether you need bigger injectors or not is determined by injector duty cycle. You don't want your injector duty cycle maxing out ir coming close to maxing out. Anything over 80% and you should consider bigger flowing injectors.

Your tuner will be able to tell you what the duty cycle is at. A lot of times it's better to upgrade to bigger injectors before getting tuned, otherwise your tuner may have to charge you again to get it re tuned

well right now i plan on going with an ls6 intake and some ported 243 heads with either of those cams would those mods justify getting bigger injectors with either of those cams?

Up
Grade

I hit 452 by the skin of my teeth. I even had 42#'ers on the car when we swapped on the dyno, and got the gracious news that one was dead. It sucked, and we tuned what we could "safely"

I would up grade, I maxed out my stock injectors with a cam, 243s and intake. Since you already will have to tune the car, there isnt no point in tunning it two times because you findout your stocks are not workingfor you, save money in the long run!

My vote would be to go with 36# and stock pump if you're not taking the car any further as far as power. If you're going to want more power down the road, go with 42# and a 255 pump. There's no reason to replace the pump IMO until ~460-470rwhp or until it goes out.

I'm obviously a little bias but I would definitely go with the v3. The cam paired up well with my 243's and actually has some street manners!

Might as well go with 42lb, there not much more than 36lb and you have a little more room to grow. Your tuner can adjust the flow rate.

I'm going to be running a truck intake ,on my project. On a budget are the flex fuel injectors a good alternative I think there around 32 lb if IIRC.

The injectors I'm referring to are 2008 5.3 from LC9 or LMG. Any info on these would be helpful.

Fuel Injector connection can rebuild your stockers to 42lb for around $200. I just had some redone for a fast intake and they came out great.

Where on clubgp did you find injectors? I do not see a classified section or vendors. What injectors did you get, ones from a LS4.

WARNING- DO NoT EVEN START THE CAR WHEN uSINg LARGeR INJECTORS WITHOUT A TUNE...

Cam only and I was at 105 duty cycles at 5800 rpms. I got racetronic 42lb injectors. My tuner let me put them in real quik when the car was sitting on the dyno.
