Keep the MAF imo, especially considering you reside in Indiana (Chicagoan here, I understand your weather pains!). SLP 85MM MAF would probably be just fine, or you could opt for the TSP 100mm.

Who are you planning on using for your tune?

Right now I plan to tune it myself. Hp tuners doesn't look to bad software wise. I just here weird things where people say that there maf tune will start to wonder after awhile. I don't know if that is actually true? I was looking at the tsp 100mm I'm trying to have as few restrictions as possible.

I was wondering how you were gonna tune it. Because I heard you can't drive it after all these mods with the 42lb injectors before tuning. It would flood. Amirite?

So the car is all back together accept I am still needing to order a 100mm maf (decided to keep the maf) and hook the pcv system back up. I did receive my after market catch can setup for the car today, however I left it at work so no pictures at the moment .

Since I am now playing the waiting game for parts I am going to paint these guys tomorrow.

Hopefully I can get them to look halfway decent. I now really need to figure out a tire for my ss wheels. I am keeping the rear stock width and plan to give it a somewhat "sleeper look" for now. I have been looking mostly at the nt05r 275/40/17 what are all of you guys running as far as tires that hook?

*edit Remember this is a street car that will see the track occasionally!

I had Nt05r's in that size on my GTO. I do believe they run a little narrow for their avertised size. How ever they hooked great on both the track or the street. Much better than a nt555r. I think i got 12-15k miles out of mine.

Cool! This is exactly the kind of info I was hoping to hear about on these tires. Thanks!

Cascade cuts right through the grease lol

Just be quiet and she will never know what I have done....shhhh.
That's awesome. My wife would flip if I used the dishwasher as a parts cleaner.

BTW, Great build. It brings back memories of my first H/C swap

Yeah this car is a lot different than what I normally mess with. I just love the simplicity of the car it makes working on it so easy! So later today I may have some startup videos! I'm going to put fluids, and put my stock maf on and see what it does. Ill try and upload the videos later. Then I start pulling this unloved 10 bolt.

Well I looked at the instructions on the trunion upgrade and was like hell this is to easy to pay someone else to do so I took them over to my dads shop today and got them knocked out real quick (took an hour).

I now see why people recommend this upgrade! That awful looking, I can just imagine one of those letting loose and tuh duh needle bearings in my oil pan.

The finished product

Getting s%^T done!

Then I came home and mr. fedex pulled in behind me. I got the left and the right backing plates new off of amazon shipped to my door for 120$

So now that my coffee break is almost over I am going back out there to finish this up and get this sucker started!

I didn't get nearly as far as I wanted to get today mainly because I had some questions about pushrod length but I made it through. I finally got the passenger side header put on, I hadn't done it because it is such a pain to try and do it yourself. Today I am basically stopping at getting my rocker arms back in and tomorrow I am going to put my y pipe on and I should be able to finally start it.

I took this picture tonight right before I stopped.

basically to get it running I have to
put oil in engine
put more dexcool in
put drive belt back on
put exhaust system on
put 02 sensors back in

I bought a new optima battery at work since the old battery was feeling really sluggish plus it was a duralast battery and that doesn't fly

I guess I couldn't stop for the night, did some other odds and ends of stuff on the car before I could stop for the night my buddy cory came over and helped me put the locking header bolts, got all the lines hooked back up and did a few other small things. Next big task is changing out my fuel pump for the racetronix pump.
