The part number is going to change depending on brand. Just go to any local parts place or rockauto for acdelco and lookup the alt for an 01-04 denali or escalade with the 145amp option and you'll find it. I'm running a rebuilt from autozone now and it's great direct bolt in

The general part number that is used is "AD244" with the 4 wire connector.
I got one for my engine rebuild because my old alternator wasn't up to par. Have tried rebuilt and high power alternators and they all pretty much sucked. Hopefull the truck alternator will do better.

This online calculator (apexcustoms.com/car-audio-calculators) is outputting 62.5 Amp required on 14.4v DC draw (peak?) just for amps, not head unit and usual car consumption needs (ECU, AC, Lights, etc.) which is over the stock 102 Amps and 12v DC alternator.
Looking at this the "Truck" alternator is adding 43 Amps above the stock (for a total of 145 Amps), not sure this would be able to absorb the 62 Amps?
The current, 7/13/2020 Autozone price is $414, the high outputs I found Texas Speed and Performance has a 240 Amp alternator (#159-8206240) and priced at $350 specifically for LS1 applications and the 2002 Trans Am is listed as a vehicle it will fit (they also have 270 Amp and 370 Amp models). This is a 100 Amp increase for $150 less!
I found PurePower makes a 250 Amp alternator (250AMP PurePower Hairpin High Output Alternator Chevrolet GMC Trucks 1996-2016), currently on sale for $300 at Phoenix Alternators.
The one thing I don't like on the PurePower is it seems to not "kick-on" until >1,000 rpm, the Texas Speed "kicks-on" at 850 rpm. Would this mean at idle all the power is draining the battery with PurePower? Both have the 4 pin rectangular plug.
The Texas Speed alternators are listed as for racing only and not street, not sure if this will be a problem???
