Sean,

I have to apologize. For some reason when I looked I didn't even see your y-pipe

However looking at the correct list now I don't see a catted version so I have to ask: am I missing this one too?

Have you received yours yet? I was going to get the TSP 1 7/8 headers, but I think I'll just get these. I can sell my stainless works headers I have on the car right now for the price I'll pay for these ones new.

Well F me twice then call me in for dinner......

After all of the trouble Sean and my wife went through getting me a set of 1 3/4's delivered by Christmas, I just ordered a set of 1 7/8's. Might as well since I haven't installed the smaller ones yet. (Who knows WHEN all my stuff will go on, fixing up an old house with a kid 2 months away)

Sean can you PM me about a couple smaller doo-hickeys I might want to add on for my truck? Thanks.

What is the difference between RACE and AIR/EGR version?
Can I use the RACE version on my 99 Camaro SS?

Sorry I know nothing.

If you want to delete the AIR and EGR systems then yes. If you want (or need) to keep them then no. Race version headers have no provisions for them.

If you live where they do visual exhaust inspections then you can't delete them.

If you live where they don't then you can, there's several threads on deleting them. You'll have to have the codes tuned out of the PCM as well as removing the hardware.

01z28geek: Nope, we don't offer a catted version. However, I have heard that a few guys tried the TSP catted Y-Pipe and it worked fine with our headers.

AnotherWs6: Sent PM. Thanks..

No I don't think Sean has got them from fab shop yet. I believe it'll be another month till I do.

I was gonna do the same as you with the TSPs and saw this thread and the rest was an easy decision.

I have a question about the Air/EGR version. I will be buying a set in the next month but things don't match up. On the web site it says the primaries are 1.7 part # 25-1001, which I would assume is 1 7/8. On ebay is says 1 3/4 part # 25-1001. Can you tell me what the actual size for these headers are, and is the size the actual size of the whole pipe, not just the ends then go smaller. Please PM me so we don't have to clutter the board.

1.75 = 1 3/4. 1.875 would be equivalent to 1 7/8.

Ok, thanks. I don't see a 1 7/8 version for Speed Engineering. I checked their website but didn't see them. Oh well. I guess I won't be getting headers any time soon. To bad a can't use the Race version.

I have a question for Sean or anyone who's installed the Speed headers.

Are the Standard Graphite Gaskets good? Or any other recommendations?

Thanks

Our Air/EGR version has a 1.75 port with a 1.6-1.7 primary tube. Here is the link again to the 1 7/8" version. We are expecting them within approx 3 weeks:

http://www.speedengineeringlsx.com/s...ersion-25-1021

We recommend the GM multi layer gaskets. The graphite gaskets aren't bad, but they are like any paper style gasket. They have the potential to blow out, and with the flex allows header bolts to loosen up. You wont have any of those problems with factory GM gaskets and stock bolts.

Thanks
Sean

So if I purchase the 1 7/8 headers on your website, they won't be shipped out for about 3 weeks?

Heck, I'm near Modesto so I can just pick them up in Fresno

Yes, were expecting them in approx 3 weeks or less. You can pick them up, but might still be cheaper to ship them. Modesto is a 2.5hr round trip. Shipping's only 15.00. Unless you got a Prius shipping might be the way to go.

Thanks
