Bill2002: We wont be making an Air/EGR 1 7/8" version. Sorry.

Blackpanther99: We have 99-06 headers in production at the moment. Were waiting on our prototype back. Should be any week now. If they fit there is approx 3 months before we have our first batch. I would say 07+ headers will be the beginning of next year some time.

BOLO: Returned.

Here is the link again for the 1 7/8" headers pre-orders:

Thanks

I'm very interested in your headers, might be making a purchase next month. I just have a couple of questions.

How do I know if I need the O2 extensions? I have an '01 Z28 if this helps.

What's the advantage of getting GM gaskets?

Lastly, what's the advantage of 1 7/8 over 1 3/4? Seems like a small difference in size to me, what are we talking, 5-10 HP here?

Going in backwards order,

5 - 10 hp gain implies your only looking at PEAK values. A true representation is average increase across the band. While your car might make peak say 360hp on 1 3/4 and only make 370hp on 1 7/8 what your not looking at is across the board. You give up a little down low with higher flow exhaust. so down low you might actually lose 5 or 7hp starting out. But come middle of your rpm range you start making more then what the 1 3/4 did and that continues on up to peak.

I always get looks when I tell someone that a 400 hp car can cream a 800hp car in the quarter mile all dependant on the 400hp having a higher "average" hp as measure across the board. If the 800hp car is only making that big number in a narrow range of the rpm then he's wasting the rest of the band on a lower number. Once averaged you find his number is lower then the 400hp car that carries that 400 over the rpm band for a long range.

A better flowing exhaust will yield higher hp numbers in the upper rpm range. It will sacrifice some in the lower range. Considering when Drag racing the car after getting out of first gear typically stays in the 3,500 to 6,200 rpm range on LS motors, your getting a bigger bang with 1 7/8th headers.

GM Gaskets are reusable, they seal better then most aftermarket. They're just overall good gaskets.

Yes, you need extensions as the primary's merge farther away then the stock manifolds do and the bung has to go where the primary's merge to get the best reading of afr for the o2's.

One can also skip the O2 extensions and pick up Corvette rear O2 sensors with the longer leads. This eliminates the extra connections and also gets one brand new sensors to replace (in the OP's case) 13 year old sensors.

You can skip both and re-pin your wiring harness at the computer to use the rear o2 wiring.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...vette-o2s.html
New o2 sensors may still be a good idea but F-body sensors are cheaper.
I know this is a little off topic but is there any reason a person couldn't save another $10 on the set and use 5.3 truck sensors?

That's certainly the most affordable option I personally chose not to go that route as I can not stand wiring shenanigans, but to each their own

As for the 5.3 sensors, they might not be the same heat range or whatever it is the O2's do (I'm not an expert on that stuff; just an assumption).

I'm with this guy! I suck with electronics and this is a simple swap.

I was just playing with the pcm. Took me almost an hour just to get the grey cover off.

Dudeman from the write up didn't mention the lock washer on the pcm bolt and the tabs on the F'in cover were a complete **** show!

.....and I didn't even do any swapping of pins.....so I gotta do it again.

Other than that it'll be easy now when I gotta do it. Everything after getting the cover off would be ez peezy.

There is not a single fbody that wouldn't require extensions, longer O2's, or repinning the PCM.
