Default oil consumption w/ AMW oil catch can?

i was wondering if any of u guys were still having oil consumption issues after the AMW oil catch can mod? BTW im using mobil 1 10w30 oil.

i had a oil change at 42,500. right now im at like 44,100 and i installed the catch can at around 43,000 miles. i checked the oil today on a cold engine and it was right at the bottom of the first(or last) X right before ADD.

what else can i do to better my oil consumption?

You can try going to an LS6 PCV system...That might help...You could also have some bad rings...

The catchcan will not help with oil consumption issues. What it will do is prevent oil from getting into your intake via the PCV system. What did help with my oil consumption was using a metco breather. This did help a great deal. I have the AMW catchcan and the metco breather.

Yeah, Nasty is right. It'll help it but not stop it completely. You'll still get some oil past the rings, especially at WOT.

Not to hijack this thread but my 02 does not seem to lose much oil. After 2000 miles I did have a teaspoon of oil in my AMW can but the dipstick still reads full. Is the oil burning problem an issue on all LS1's or are the later models better for it? My car was a very early 02 build date was 9/01. before the catch can I did notice a puff of blue smoke when I rev'd the engine but that no longer happens since I installed the can.
