No. It's a replacement part. That means it only fits and functions for it's intended application. As I stated earlier, if the LS truck intake and mod motor intakes they offer are any judge of performance, this thing will disappoint. That said, most Dorman stuff is pure ****, with a few better than OEM gems here and there.

They're available now... Partsgeek, and a few others have them in stock ready to ship. 317 SHIPPED is the cheapest I've seen so far.

Button head bolts replace the regular hex valley cover bolts... Unless you want to crack the bottom of the intake.

I'd say everything sounds promising enough that someone is bound to take the plunge soon and see if it's any good or not.

Nothing was confirmed.

Chris is uniformed at best. This is quite obviously NOT a copy of the OE intake. Furthermore, saying it has been flow tested to match the GM specs (whatever they are ) is a joke and is meaningless. What Chris did was give a formatted, corporate BS response.

The guy that was the manager of the program didn't. It's a cost effective alternative to the LS6... If it stacks up.

The only way we'll know about the quality for sure is for one of the members to bite the bullet and buy one. Dorman does make nice "OE" quality products. For the NA, bolt-on guy, it'll probably be a great upgrade and cheap alternative. Who knows, with comp/fast/whatever design it might be a really badass manifold. On the other hand, it could fall apart.

its an alternative to the ls6. not a real "direct replacement".
the ls6 was a single one piece design. wasnt 2 glued halves like this one. the split personality does allow to pull apart and port it or at least improve it some if theres enough material perhaps.
i wouldnt trust it under pressure. the real ls6 has proven itself with big boost.
prolly a good find for the n/a bolt on or dd weekend warrior motor.
if it matches the real ls6 hp for hp then its a solid deal.
but i think it wont drive the price of the real ls6 intake down at all.

I ordered 1 of these today from a local parts store that handles a lot of dorman stuff. They claim 3-4days so Hopefully it turns out out to be as good as I'm anticipating!

Are you taking it apart or just bolting it on? Any test other than the visual?

Take a lot of good detailed pictures, before and after dyno numbers would be awesome.

things will need a good sanding and painting or something...all the molded in wording is butt ugly, same goes for the EGR plug

^ A bit of a shame they didnt consider making it a "knock out" instead. One less spot to potentially leak

I think I'd replace the EGR plug it with a steel freeze plug, smooth off everything but the made in USA, and give it a coat of satin black.
