It will remain a slip fit connection using band clamps. The headers wont be modified. I'm welding on 3"-2.5" reducer cones to the catback.

I did the same thing. I bought two 3"x2.5" reducers from eBay thinking I had some 3" slip fit ends lying around that I could just weld to the 3" end of the reducer, thus making it a 3" slip fit to 2.5" reducer that would maintain a 3" slip fit on the header. However, I only had one 3" slip fit end lying around, so I had to go to the parts store to get two 3" couplers, and of course they only have CS... wish I had thought that through, it looks not so nice.

Make sure you get a 3" ID to 2.5" OD reducer.

Welding is a skill I wish I had. Good luck with your install. And thanks to themealonwheels for that useful information.

My 50-state legal 304SS order was supposed to ship 11/25, but as of today it's still on backorder.

Funny....I called on Monday Nov. 23 and ordered the headers & exhaust. Took two tries to get through. Customer service said both were in stock. Now the headers are on back order and I have no estimated ship date. Left a message on Friday Nov. 27 and have yet to hear back from the manufacturer. This stuff must be flying off the shelves.

I have the system on back order, but have a question for those that have it.
How loud do you feel it is compared to other exhaust systems?
I am currently stock with Mac mid length headers, ORY, and Borla catback.
Just worried with some of the videos that I saw that it will be a lot quiter at idle and such.
Appreciate the help.

im under the same impression. it seems very quiet. which is fine for some but there are others of us that dont like it so quiet. maybe they can offer couple diff muffler opts.

I keep coming close to cancelling the order. I'd keep the Borla but don't like the rasp at 2k RPM. I know duals will get rid of it, but just worried it's too quite.

when i had my magnaflow it didnt rasp. maybe thats an opt for you. having a good ypipe setup helps alot with that rasp as well.

Magnaflow will be quieter than these duals. I had the magnaflow. I now have these duals. The single magnaflow muffler is actually larger and heavier than both hooker mufflers combined. As for the rasp my magnaflow setup still had it with the TSP ypipe with the good merge. It also had it when I had the flowmaster merge fabed into a y. I was also cammed with long tubes which is way raspier than stock cam or facotry manifolds. Only way I got rid of the rasp completely on my setup was to run cats. Cats plus the magnaflow was stock sounding. The ypipe and magnaflow setup also droned a lot, which was annoying. I finally threw in the towel on ypipe setups and went for this catback.

when i had my magnaflow catback with kooks headers and kooks catless yipe it didnt rasp at all and wasnt quiet either but i had a 408ci with almost 550whp, my header collectors where 3.5in and my ypipe was as well. i necked it down to 3in right before the rearend started. i ran 3.5 ipipe (single pipe section) as far back as i could.

before that setup i had a some cheap ypipe with hooker catback and it rasped like hell

and even before that i had SLP and lets not even talk about rasp there bc they invented it LOL

now loudness wise im only going off the 1 or 2 videos iv seen so its hard to tell.

iv had 4 diff setups. SLP/hooker/TD dumped/magnaflow

Anyone have any estimates as to how loud the blackheart setup is? Mainly comparing to a Borla adjustable catback no plate with headers. I'm pretty sure the Borla will be louder since it is straight through on the passenger side.

Tell us more about your install, mating the reducers to the Y portion, fitment, ground clearance - anything relevant to mating this system with LT's.
