Default Best 1-7/8" LT Headers

So I've had my 1-3/4" LT Pacesetter headers for a while now & I'm thinking about upgrading to 1-7/8" once I get my H/C/Spray installed.. Whats everyone's suggestions for the best bang for your buck headers. I know American Racing make the best etc but don't feel like dropping $1k on headers..

Speed engineering seems to be the way everyone is going. I'm curious to see the difference from a 1 3/4 to 7/8.

I've heard good things about Speed Engineering headers as well. Not sure, but I thought Texas Speed had some too

Thanks guys! Ill look into Speed Engineering. Says they're located in Fresno, Ca which is just south of me so all in all with shipping headers come out to $350!

Nothing against you or anything man... But I haven't bought from Texas-Speed ever since my little indecent with them. Lost a customer after that..... Wasn't to thrilled about the customer service or lack of.

Have you swapped on headers before? Depends on the sizing/brand. I know with 1 3/4" headers there's a couple brands (forgot which) that the passenger side one is more of a hassle & hang low, etc. But I never had any problems with my 1 3/4" Pacesetters. Gained 3x rwhp with them & a true dual exhaust. & it makes your car sound a lot better! but there's tons of write ups on how to do it. But you can get it done in a day.

I don't know whether its worth cutting cost on headers. I like the ARH headers and for the performance gain and the decrease in headaches I'd not cheap out here. I'm not cutting on the Speed Engineering headers but know what I've encountered with lesser priced headers ever since I installed a set of Black Jack headers on my college Camaro. (and no I'm not comparing those crappy Black Jack Headers to Speed Engineering - that's a world of difference!).

I too would look into the Speed Engineering 1 7/8 headers, or even the Texas Speed 2" headers.

Don't you need an aftermarket k frame with 2inch headers?

Best all around is ARH or Kooks. Best on a budget Speed Engineering or TSP. I'm running an set of modded Speed Engineering 1 7/8 with a set of Cone Engineering merge collectors and 7 degree cones.

The kooks 1 7/8-2" fit the stock k member with very slight grinding on the k member pinch weld. And also I had to sit the headers in the car and then put the motor in lol. But it worked. The kooks 2" for perfect everywhere. But now have a BMR k member. Not even close to the steering shaft or starter. Excellent headers.

Buy used and save some money.
