Hidden Gauges Set ups
Anybody have some tips to hide after market gauges? I am boosting my car so I have the 3 main gauges (wideband, boost, oil pressure). I don't want to put the gauges on the pillar because I don't want any attention from cops and I drive a convertible so I am afraid it will give thief's a reason to cut the top. I was thinking of putting the gauges right under the stereo. I figure the gauges have harness connectors so I could just pull them out easily if I need to. Also is there any way to run gauges on a windows tablet or some sort of dashdaq type computer that could display the gauges for me? Looked in the Holley digital dash awesome device, but with the sensors its way off my budget. Thanks!

What kind of vehicle are you running? I've seen people hide them in the glove box so when opened it'll face the driver yet hide nicely once closed. There's several places to hide in most applications you just have to get creative.

I have a 98 camaro. I might try that and see how it looks. I figured it might be to far away in the glove box for me to look over at. I guess I will mock it up and see how it is.

I have seen a super sneaky set up but it was on a Trans Am dash and requires modification to your a/c vents and you will lose the functionality of the vents. I saw someone put LED style gauges behind the vents. So when the vehicle is turned off they go black and you can't see them. Or you can simply close the vent if you have analog gauges. I saw them in person so I don't have a picture but it can be done. I'm sure with a little work you could do that behind the camaro vents as well. You would just need to block off the ducting going to them and make a plate to fit the gauges behind the vents.

I have seen them in the vents hidden on other cars before. I need the vents for AC though lol. I hate the heat! I think I might just go with the glove box unless I can fab something under the stereo which is easily removable or covered.
