Speed Engineering True Dual Exhaust Kits!!
#503
Spent my lunch hour and coffee break adjusting the exhaust and am fairly satisfied with the results. I backed off all the band clamps and the two bolts that tie the axle pipes together, I took a muffler jack on the drivers side pipe and jacked it up and tapped the exhaust towards the drivers side of the vehicle with a 3lb dead blow mallet, that really seemed to help shift the exhaust more towards the tunnel. I added a hanger to the drivers side axle pipe and tied it to the little brace in front of the tank this made the drivers side axle pipe touch my fuel tank but I was able to heat the bottom side of the bend up with a torch to bend it down a bit. Both hangers for the mufflers pull the exhaust to the drivers side of the vehicle, so ones pointed back and the other forward.
My car is lowered 1 1/4" with BMR coils and I have 3" of clearance at the X and intermediate pipe. I'm gonna wrap both axles pipes with header wrap to keep the fuel tank from getting warm, other then how loud the exhaust is, I'm pretty happy with it. Pics to follow

I'm going to give this a shot with the LT1 headers I think. My hookers are at least 20 years old and have worn through the coating again. At least I have a Tig welder and a pipe bender if needed.
I was planning on duals this month to go along with the Fab 9 I've been looking at.

Just ordered mine. I'll give it a shot for the LT crowd and let you guys know how easy it fits. I'll be doing a crankcase evac system at the same time.

I made my own hangers, bought some exhaust band clamps and installed my system a few days ago. Even with the inconvenience of not having received the hardware with the original shipment I would definitely buy it again if needed. Only regret is that the system is A bit too loud.
Fabricated hangers out of 3/8" SS rod
This is the ground clearance I got after all was said and done (3 3/4" at the lowest point) :
I did fabricate and add an additional hanger right under the pass side rear seat:

RGSS: Looks great.
We are actually prototyping a bracket today for our rear exit kit. If we can get them done in time, we plan on including a similar bracket to the center section of the exhaust. Which, should help with some of the sag a lot of guys are seeing.
Thanks
Sean
