i have to agree the systems is awesome but can be a bit loud, Has anyone thought of putting mufflers on this system? I have no cats and i understand it's still going to be loud. Just want to tone it down a bit. what would be the best option for mufflers?

If your wanting to tone it down; I would start with cats( this will also get rid of the gassy fumes). If your hell bent on changing mufflers, I would look into a chambered style muffler. The most room your gonna have is after the axle, but if you want them before the axle you’ll have to stagger them ( a pair of reversed glass packs could be a good option). Muffler tones are subjective, the perfect note to one person will be too loud, too quiet or not enough growl to the next. So there might be some trial and error if you have the time and money to play.

i appreciate your input, unfortunately the time is there but not the money. I'll do some research on chambered muffler's . Just need to tone it down a notch. unhappy wife in car makes for an uncomfortable ride, lol.

When you look at all of these true dual systems on offer (apart from Hooker Blackheart with its 2.5 inch piping and 5 inch diameter mufflers) you just know they’re going to be excessively loud surely... 12-14 inch long race bullet mufflers ain’t doing much at all for sound deadening.

Sorry been very busy lately and just getting a chance to check this.

I am lowered. 1.5in. I did some mods on the back for better clearance and less rub running the Z06 wheels. I can get some measurments and let you know.

I've made adjustments and just can't get the clearance i need. grant it my car is lowered with bmr lowering spring. went out for a cruise and exhaust got caught up and pulled apart. I understand it's aftermarket and all but this is becoming more of a pain then it's worth. trying to see what Ls1-justin did differently but cant tell. Not trying to knock the system but it just isn't working for me.

here's what I did...

Make sure you get the better grade 8 bolts if you haven't already. Put the back end up on jack stands with the bolts loose. Put a jack under the X pipe, push it up against the floor and tighten everything up really nice and tight. My car is on a full Straino drop suspension and it only scrapes on speed bumps and really really bad roads

I hope it fits as good as the long tubes.
how have the headers held up? Rust? Considering the axel dumps.

made some adjustments last night. see how it works. I think i got it up a bit but not much. other thing is it's a little loud for my taste but it is what it is now. I can deal with the sound but it sitting low bothers me, it doesn't help i'm sitting on bmr lowering springs as well.

Anyone using the over axle kit with any of the 3 point subframe connectors? From the pics it looks like there should be clearance, but I don't want to buy the kit and find out it doesn't work.

I would imagine if you're using the true duals over the axle then you can get away with a low-slung crossmember. If you are dumping the duals I'm not sure it could work.
