Default TSP duals...no ground clearance

I just installed the true duals from TSP. I believe I installed them correctly, but the ground clearance is ridiculous. The clearance is ok except for the mufflers and the dump tubes; there is seriously like 3 inches of ground clearance. Is this normal for this kit? Did I install it incorrectly? Is there anything I can do to get more ground clearance? Thanks.

This is mine. If installed correctly, there isn't really anything you can do. 3in tubing isn't the best for clearence. I put a floor jack with a board under my mufflers to get them as high up as possible. Are you at stock ride height?

Yes I am sitting at stock ride height. Yours look pretty good, you have about 2 inches more clearance than I do. Im beginning to think I put the X-pipe on upside down. How do you know which way it goes?

There is definitely a top and bottom to it. As I remember, one of the x-pipe angled up after the x. So you can either mount it angling down or angling up. It looks like it would work better angling down because the x-pipe might be higher, but actually want to mount it to where it angles up.

Yep, that would probably be my problem. I attached the mufflers to the x-pipe portion that angled up. I hope those pipes arent hard to take apart once they have been clamped.

Here are some pics of my x-pipe if it helps.

Shouldn't be too hard to get them apart, use some wd-40 if they need some coaxing.

You are going to lose some ground clearance not matter how you do it but to minimize the amount lost I loaded up the rear wheels with the weight of the car. I set the car up on some rhino ramps and then tucked the setup as much as possible. The problem with this is when you lift the car up from the chassis the weight of the diff. is on the exhaust. If you can live with that, then it'll buy you some clearance. I haven't had any negative effects yet.

Another thing, I changed out the hanger system to allow more adjustability and prevent from swiss cheeseing (sp?) the body every time I need to tweak it. Its also a lot easier to drop the whole system from the car if needed.

Pics have been attached. Hope they help, I have more if you need'em.

Frank

Edit: BTW, I haven't scraped the system since I readjusted them on any speedbumps what-so-ever. If you look closely you can see where the dumps got bites in them.

I have mine adjusted really good right now. Mine look like Frank's except I have my tips at 45deg instead of 90deg. If you use the stock hanger, use the lower mounting hole and adjust the mufflers until that mounting hole lines up to the parting line of the rear seatback sheetmetal. I also use 2 bolts on each side, but its not necessary.
