Default Edelbrock fully welded headers *with pics*

I finally decided to buy a set of long tube headers so I called Kris at SDPC and ordered a set of the Edelbrock fully welded long tube headers and ORY-pipe. As usual it was a pleasure doing business with SDPC.

The Edelbrock headers are 1-3/4 stepped to 1-7/8 with a 3-1/2 collector and have the EGR, AIR, and O2 sensor fittings welded on. I got the standard Edelbrock Ti-Tech finish on the headers. Ceramic coating is available for an additional charge.

The headers come with O2 harness extensions, header bolts and gaskets as well as the AIR and EGR gaskets and block off plates if needed. The kit even came with screw in O2 bung plugs to use if you are not using your O2 sensors. This is one complete kit. The extras you get are worth at least $100.
The welds and the primaries look good and the overall quality looks very good.

The off road Y-pipe is just as complete. It comes with the O2 bungs that you can choose to have welded on if you have the need for them as well as all the necessary clamps and reducers to hook it up to the headers and your existing cat-back. The Y junction looks very good and should flow very well.

The headers are $395 and the Y-pipe is $105. These are a great product that also have a great price.

Pretty pieces. Seems like awfully big primaries for a stock cubed, mildly modified street car though.

That Y-pipe looks really nice relative to others I've
seen (from a fluid perspective).

The primaries are 1-3/4 stepped to 1-7/8. You might be right but after searching around this site and seeing how many people are running 1-7/8 headers on similarly modded cars with good success I thought that 1-3/4 stepped to 1-7/8 would be a good choice.

Excuse my ignorance.....WTF does "fully welded" headers mean? Welded as opposed to what.

Great question.

Edelbrock makes two versions of this header. One version has no emission fittings welded on (but are included) and the collectors are the slip-on merge type. The fully welded version has all the emission fittings and the collector welded on.
One you can install right out of the box and the other you must have some welding done.

See the link below for more detailed info.

The headers are made of mild steel and have Edelbrock’s Ti-Tech finish. There is more info on Edelbrock’s site about the Ti-Tech finish.

The fully welded version has all the emission fittings and the collector welded on.
What if you dont want the emission crap on it, but want the collector welded on?

The only option I know of is to buy the version with the slip-on merge collector and have them welded on.
