guess nobody has heard of it. It was on the issue with a purple challenger on the cover of Popular Hot Rodding. On the parts section near the last pages.

TPIS will also take your LS6 intake and put a new snout on it to fit the 90MM oval throttle body..I have been waiting to hear from some one that had done this..thinking about doing it ..but wanted some feed back before doing it..

Do a search for it. There was some testing done and it made more power and torque throughout the rpm band than the FAST

I would trust TPIS, those guys have been in the game for a long long time. They know what the heck they're doing. And I have read a small test in Hot Rod a couple months ago, and it did make good power.

I think this is the thread:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-external-engine/432100-ls6-intake-vs-fast-lsx.html
about half-way down TPiS chimes in.

Here is a link to a scan of the article referenced at the end of the thread:

Thanks man..I am leaning toward putting a 90MM on a TPIS modified LS6 intake instead of a fast 90 with a MW TB..just trying to figure out which way to go..

No problem.

I'm looking for a cheaper alternative to the Fast90/NW that doesn't sacrifice too many ponies.

Same here .. I need to check with TPIS and find out how much they are charging to do the conversion on a LS6 intake to accept a 90mm TB..I wonder if a MW 90 MM TB will work on the intake too after conversion or if only the TPIS TB will after conversion??

Well what I read on the TPIS site is that the throttle body is also oval, 90x78mm. As far as the mag, I'm still triying to find it(pronabably under my bed???) I'll let you guys know for sure as soon as I find it.

By looking at the charts, it seems that the 90LSX is only a few horses aead of the oval LS6. Since the oval LS6 is much cheaper, I say thats the way to go.

I don't think the pricing of the OVAL competes with the FAST90/NW90

100-194 Billet Oval Throttle Body, 00-02 F Body, Exchange........$499.00
Core of $300
100-192 Modified LS6 Intake for Oval Port Throttle Body, Exchange........$350.00

150-192 Intake manifold core charge, LS6........$500.00

^
Only worth it if you send in your own LS6 and your own TB ($999). It's $1350 if you send them a TB ($1650 outright for everything), a bit more than the 90/NW90 combo.

What kind of pricing have you found for the MW 90 MM TB and the Fast intake

You can get a FAST 90/90 setup in the $1100-1200 range new. There isn't a single reason to opt. for the TPIS set if you haven't the cores on-hand. Even if you did, cutting out the bottom of an OEM LS6 intake for port-work (I've done 3 to date) vs. simply opening the FAST makes a LARGE difference in the time/pain in the a** dept. Well worth the small additional cost. TPIS=ripoff on most of what they have to offer. Sponser or no sponser. Of course, this is coming from someone with the equipment to make thier own goods. Maybe a tad bias I guess...

EDIT: Consider this. If you have a LS6 to begin with, $1100 for the FAST 90/90 - the $400 you'd get back selling your LS6 intake and TB, and you end up at a loss of $700. That's more pwr with room to grow at $300 less.

Thanks for the info..I have both cores..but as close as the price is I guess the fast 90 mm intake and the MW 90 MM TB is probably the way to go..especially with ability to port match the intake..
