There is a plug on the passengers side head near the #8 cylinder. Same place as on the drivers side. Pull the plug out and get an adapter that is 1/8 npt to M12x1.5. I had a hard time finding and adapter, so I just drilled out the plug and tapped it to make my own.

Good luck,

As I have been looking at this for a while now, I think I have found another way to hook up the w-temp guage. I've talked to the techs at Autometer and am now looking at drilling a hole in the flat part on top of the thermostat housing, tapping it 1/8"npt threads, or maybe an adapter into the housing and using the housing for the sensor. I think this could be easier than trying to reach that plug by the #8 exhaust and messing around someplace that i really can't even see.

I'll pass this along for comments:
I also spoke with AutoMeter when I installed a water temp warning light. They suggested splicing a tee into the exit hose from the water pump and inserting the sender into the tee. Of course I can't speak for it's effectiveness because it's not a gauge, but I wonder if a gauge sender wouldn't work here.

I did put the sender in the hose and installed the light. The light only comes on if water temp exceeds 212 degrees. I'm quessing that if a gauge sender was installed here, it would indicate a lower temp than it would if it was installed into the head. Anyone know for sure???
