Pacesetter Header Install

Pacesetter Header Install
Today after school i decided to put my headers and y-pipe on, after 7 hours of bangin my hand in tight corners and about 200 cuss words, i got the last bolt tight, i cut one of my plug wires so i dont even get to start it up or drive it til tomorrow if your puttin pacesetter headers on, here are a couple tips, you need to grind about 1/2 off a square tab on the block, and you do not need to take off the passenger side spark plugs, that'll save you some time, if anyone has any questions on installin headers i'll answer them

I just installed mine last Sunday and didn't need to grind the block. The header got stuck there but I pushed a little harder and it went past. They really are some of the easiest headers to install. You'll love the new sound from your car.

i didnt need to grind the block either when i installed them on my 02 z28. had to bang on the body a tad on the drivers side but then they slid right in. 4 hours tops. ill probably be buying them for my 02 ss as well.

i never had to grind the block on mine either. i have a 99 ss. it took me and my roommate 4hrs of actually working to take the old stuff off and put my headers and y-pipe on. very easy install and sound great. i luv them.

Well every car is different it seems, I'm doing a second install for a buddy, and his car has fought me every inch of the way.
The passenger side was a PITA to take the stock manifolds off, and the drivers side is a PITA to put the header on.
Contrast that with my own install, it was a breeze, the headers practically flew up into position, so it seems every car has its differences

Yes, every install is different. Now that I think bout what I said before, they went in easy, but to this day, the factory manifolds and cats are still together. Could not get them apart to save my life. Oh well.

they say with headers and ory pipe that you'll run a little rich, that would be the only reason for a tune is the adjust your air/fuel ratio, and to get that SES light off, the car sounds so damn mean, like it would rip ur arm off and beat you with it, when you are WOT it sounds nothin less then a race car, when i hammer on it around town i have people callin me all the time asking if that was me, i cut the wire cuz it was the passenger side back plug wire and i couldnt get it off about 30 minutes of wigglin and pullin, so i used pairof pliers and forced it out

Just installed Pacesetter LT's on LS1. Had front up about a foot and a half in air and rear maybe 6 in. Drivers side was a biotch to get in. Had to kinda man handle it past the block but it worked. Prob scratched the header a little but I had no choice. That is the only problem I had aside from my hands hurting because of trying to fit them into all these tight spots to take off and resecure bolts. Didn't replace spark plugs. I though would probably recommend getting new spark plug wires cause those things were very loose after i reattached them. With the engine shake it kinda rattles them off. I gotta get some tighter (new) ones.

i didnt grind tab, i got the car as high as i could on jackstands and got a jack with a block of wood and started to jack up on the oil pan. It lifted the side od the motor just enough to get the header in. Gotta be careful notto jack on it to much or the car will lift off the stands and prolly squish you.
