Default Advise: On the Volant system which oil can I use?

Hey all:

I just picked up a Volant system from a friend and I need to service the filter. Question is:

Do I have to use the Volant blue cleaner and oil or can I use the K&N cleaner and oil? I have the K&N cleaner but dont have the Volant.

Just need some input. Thanks

Default Volant

I've had the Volant for a few years now and never liked the Filter portion, so I bought 2 K and N cones in it's place and now I am able to use their oil and cleaner. As to your ?, I'm not sure what K and N's oil will do to Volants Filter. If you like, I can try and find out part numbers I used for the K and N filters. and do away with Volants Filter.

If you get a chance get me the numbers. How did you get it to work with two of them?

Did you have any chance finding the numbers for the K&N?

I'm using K&N filters with my Volant too. The K&N filter part numbers are RU3530. I'm also using a K&N crankcase filter for the air hose. I don't recall the part number, but it has a 1/2" outer diameter tube.

I had a volant system on my Dodge Ram Hemi for a couple of years and I always used the K&N cleaner and oil. After I used the K&N oil for so long I forgot that it was a volant filter. K&N will do just fine on that filter. It is probably the same filter just with different colored oil on it.
