lost one of the boys today well i lost one of my eight cylinders havent found the cause yet but hears what happended
i fired it up at the bank and immediatly noticed that the car was rough and the idle wasnt smooth, next i start to smell unburnt gas out of the exhaust and finaly the dreaded SES light came on
so its a sad day for me let me know what yall think. personaly I think it eaither a spark plug or spark plug wire any imput would be apprciated.

Could be a lot of things. I just had a bad plug myself, but it doesn't sound like you have the same symptoms as I did. How long have you had your LT's? An exhaust leak could be messing with your O2 sensors, which could explain the unburnt gas. An O2 sensor may be bad. Could be a bad plug or wire, but usually from my experience they don't just quit. They will start to arc, which would happen most when their is a load on the engine...high gear, low rpm. This kind of throws the car around as it jumps back and forth from 7-8 cylinders. Either way, good luck finding the problem.
unburnt fuel.. well at least you know the injector is doing its job and its being push out through the exhaust..
get that code pulled... could be a coil gone bad, or like the other guy said the wire could arc or just be bad.

ok yall are gona laugh i put my LTs in about 2 weeks ago and like yall know you have to pull the spark plug wires right. well mine were especialy tough and now that my car had some time to cool i went looking fount 1 coil that wasn't quite all the way in and went to push anouther one in and it just fell off the spark plug 
guess that good news pushed it back on and we have 8 cylinders once agian

Every single time i pop my motor open, invariably, I have some problem with wires being seated properly. Its very common on these motors. Ive had wires loosen up after thousands of miles too... Make sure you always get that second click on the coil pack side.
