and here is the ovaled 3" set up. The tail pipes were an after thought, they are functional but not pretty but the car is lowered and you dont really see them.

Has anyone taken their duals from a dump to a side exit in front of the rear tires?

I'm not a fan of the drone of dumped exhaust in the cabin, but i'd also rather not add a bunch of weight running it out back somehow. Might be a happy medium, just curious if anyone has done it.

Edit; found a couple videos and didn't dig the way it looked/sounded. Really think i'll just end up taking it out the back and just sacrifice the weight for sanity.

I thought that True Duals were dual exhaust systems without an x-pipe or crossover pipe. Is a connection between left and right side banks necessary in order to achieve the best performance, or can you run 2x 4 into 1?

Some just run a small section of straight pipe off each header and then add a bullet or muffler. Having an x or h pipe helps with scavenging, thus better exhaust note. Nothing at all wrong doing it the other way. A lot of track cars do that.

Thanks for the reply sir! I have the intent of using 1.75" headers. 2.5" tubing going into Dynomax bullets. The car is going to be strictly used for HPDE/TT events, not a street car. I am a little concerned about excessive noise, I just want to be able to pass inspection.

One does not care about excessive noise with true duals.

People that race their cars at courses that have sound limitations care about excessive noise...

There's plenty of ways to make duals quiet. You'll be using multiple mufflers though. Dyno max bullets aren't even CLOSE to what you'd need. Think more along the lines of a pair of Magnaflow Magnapacks along with 4x9's at the rear. That'll make it fairly docile.

2.5 sounds small for even a stock motor.

Have a friend with a '00 LS1 T/A that is looking for recommendations on long tube headers and exhaust. Car is all stock and probably will be forever.

Thanks, Brian

Speed Engineering's price for full stainless really can't be beat. He's wanting duals or a y pipe?

For the duals themselves get the Texas Speed setup. It's stainless.

Just the Y that will mate with the stock exhaust. He is looking at these. Will he need to do something to avoid an MIL?

3'' Stainless, all the way out to corsa clones, SLP "cats" and kooks straight through muffler...

Only the cats scrape over speed bumps, BMR lowering springs

What's the purpose in crossing the exhaust after the x lynx?
