Default *Probably the best headers money could buy for an LS1 F-Body!*

Just got back from American Racing Headers here on Long Island and picked up my headers!

These things ROCK!
My plan calls for a D1SC set-up so I got the best I could, I got myself stainless 1 7/8" primary race headers (no fittings)

Flanges are nice and thick, welds fully ground down, REALLY nice long collector's and just simply beautiful welds!

Nick @ ARH was awesome to deal with and is a very talkative and down to earth guy unlike the way some other shops can be. The shop is super nice and clean. I was able to see the way the headers are built from scratch all the way to a batch of C5 headers & x-pipes they had all ready to go!
I'm completely impressed.

I plan on dropping the car off in 3 weeks to have full stainless true duals done on the car.

I know Synergy is a sponsored dealer of American Racing headers whom has a thread about the headers here

If you'd like contact info for American Racing Headers direct feel free to PM me.

Here are some pics

What makes these headers the best headers? Do they fit better than the hit-or-miss QTPs? Claim more HP gain? I'm really curious now as to what convinces people to go with a brand of headers over another. Exception being of course the Pacesetter folks who go for the value.

How would we know if they are the best for the money if you didnt post up how much you paid for them?

They do look nice though.

I just laugh at the "Merge Collector Style" wording. Sounds like a play on words. Ill stick with my QTPs which are a proven header.

They look nice. Thick flange, necked down merge collector, and strainless steel.

I noticed that the O2 bung on the bank one header points outward. Be careful how you route the sensor wires to that one.

tho's look like mig weld's, the QTP's are the best header on the market, my .02
they took to long to get so i had to go with kooks, but i will be getting me a set soon.
The QTP's are tig welded by the way.

Those merge's are extremely effective. Standard merge's can't be fully welded around each tube. This style can never leak. I've seen them on their C5 and C6 systems and I know they work great on those. BTW, they look nothing like QTP's or Kook's.

My QTP high velocity are weleded all the way around. Im just not impressed with these headers. Looks like a monkey welded the headers. And there prices are higher than anyone else.

A monkey welded them? Pretty stupid comment from someone who doesn't know what he's looking at. The weld on the outside is there for support. Those headers are fully tig welded on the inside and then ground smooth, just like their Corvette headers. I don't know what they merge down to but they've got a 3" outlet. According to Synergy the complete system including the Y-pipe is 304 stainless. 304 Stainless = no coating necessary.

They definitly do not look like QTP's/Kooks

Check out any pics of QTPs or Kooks for reference to comments made...

Someone mentioned the merge/collector...look at the QTP optional "high velocity" merge collector.
Pricing was mentioned as more than anyone else's, price out an equally optioned set of any other header of this caliber, such as QTP/Kooks which have been mentioned by most, with an ory and you'll see these are right on par with any other pricing. Some others even come with an "aluminized" ory for the same pricing.

Don't get me wrong, I haven't personally had or dealt with QTP's so I can't say a whole lot besides what I see on here and such. I have had Kooks on my previous TA and yes they were pretty nice, definitly can't complain at all
.
I'm more than happy and impressed by American Racing Headers, I can't wait to get these on

isnt the guy Nick of american racing headers formally from kooks?

I gotta say though I have a set of qtp's sitting in my garage. They do have much better quality welds and a smoother merge collector.

Spoke with Rick at Synergy last night. He said the quality rivals that of their C5, C6 and ZO6 systems which are all the rage with Corvette owners right now.

I think they look great ... as for price, consider the fully stainless Y with a nice true flow merge and metallic core cats. I presume it's a 3" Y into a 3" I? The only thing I don't like about what I see is the left side outside facing bung. Of course, fitment is always the issue ... let us know how it goes.
