Default SLP dual/dual hurting my performance?

Just as it states is the SLP d/d catback hurting my hp?
Have a big cam, wanting to play in the upper RPM range is my exhaust restrictive? 2.5 collectors, 2.5 catted Y (dynatech hi flow cats) SLP D/D 3" catback. What flows best?

Could I get away with a Loudmouth 2 given my catted Y without being to loud or drone

As far as the SLP D/D catback, I have always heard it is one of the best flowing catbacks out there. It is a quiet catback but does sound good at WOT and helps with drone sound if you have an ORY.

Your y pipe(2.5") is where your restriction is. Keep your dual dual. It flows just fine.

Question....Im moving to a TD system and am planning on using a Dunomax muffler to replace my existing Dual-Dual..but I d love to keep my Dual-Dual (the sound is great)...would it be too restrictive to "Y" the pipes into the muffler or is it possiable to add a second port to the dual-dual

What kind of system is the SLP Dual-Dual?? I know they don't make it anymore, but I'm just curious what the setup is. Does it have a Y-pipe, or is it a true dual setup from the manifolds back??

But I have 2.5 inch collectors. Does it make sense to go to a bigger Y?

it parallels the stock system 2.5 pipes all the way back thru a single std sized muffler

Headers --> Y-pipe --> single pipe over the axle and into the muffler --> an exit pipe on each side of the muffler --> dual tips on each side.

It flows just fine. Quiet when you want it to be, sounds great at WOT.

There is a member here who had like a 2-3 rwhp difference between the SLP D/D and a cutout at 450rwhp. I'd still have mine if it hadn't rotted out.

I'd put some better headers and a Y pipe before I'd replace the dual/dual.

Add a cut-out and youll notice the difference. The Dual/Dual is known to be one of the best flowing catbacks, but cammed cars like to breath.

Mine also blew out all the ceramic packing and started droning badly. I actually had two blow out before moving to another brand. My QTEC was worth 8rwhp over it cam only.

i have the dual dual and love it! wouldnt trade it at all! just get a single cutout and you will be fine! with my big cammed car with cutout it was 3 tenths and 3 mph fatser compared to the dual dual! big difference!

you are fine with the dual/dual losing 3-7hp because of it...nothing major.

I've been 11.0's at 122+mph in the quarter through a SLP Dual/Dual.

Probably could go faster, but usually have my cutout open when I'm racing.

Dual/dual is not holding you back, and your 2.5" y-pipe probably isn't either.

I have a big cam and SLP dual/dual with a cutout in my 4" I pipe. I ran back to back at the track, one open and one closed. There was no difference besides the loud *** noise coming from the car.
